Cleveland, TN (4/9/11) --- 22-year old Rookie Late Model competitor Tanner Works (# T35) of Cleveland, Tennessee won his career first event Saturday night in the second TWIN 25 raceat Cleveland Speedway. A pair of $1,000 to-WIN races showcased the nights action and the # T35 "D&K Auto Repair, Easy Auto Credit, MATCO Tools" sponsored GRT / Vinson Race Engines Chevrolet racer didn't disappoint in the second-half of the special event. Works and Rick Hixson were race #2's FRONT ROW JOE's with the veteran (Hixson) being inverted to the pole after finishing 8th in the first 25-lapper. Hixson and Works tangled under the flagstand of lap #1, leaving the rookie high n' dry spun atop of turn one. One the subsequent restart it would be all Works, leading from the CAT-BIRDS SEAT. An ole familiar foe took to Works' spoiler late in the race, when Brian Pritchard stepped into the runner-up spot. William Thomas raced from 6th to third with Lamar Scoggins battling from 8th to pass Hixson for 4th at the races conclusion.

Works busted onto the Late Model scene this season after racing 2010 in the Limited/Crate division. In the season opening Southern All-Star SHAMROCK event, Works last minute decision to enter the $10,000 to-WIN race paid-off when he not only made the race but competed strongly with SLM veteran Ray Cook. "The family is my major supporters" stated Works after the race. "Mom and Dad have done everything imaginable to get me to this point" an elated Works concluded in the pits. In race #1 it would be Lamar Scoggins taking the win, passing early race leader John Owenby. The race was stopped at the conclusion of the 25 laps when Thomas and Justin Litchford tangled for third under the checkers, leaving the leader of the LITCHMOB turned in-front of the field. Denny Slayton racing Bobby Mayse came and slammed into the parked machine of Litchford ending both racers nights. Slayton was taken to a local hospital with back pain. Booger Brooks won his third Limited feature of the season, Jason Brown won the Hobby, Scott Ledford won the Pony and and Matt Patton won the FWD race.
