(Indianapolis, IN--December 10, 2015) Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosted 163 people representing 64 organizations, tracks, and series, from 26 states, Canada, and Australia, in the Speedway Media Center, December 9, at the 3rd Annual RPM@Indy Promoters Workshop. Keeping with the RPM Workshops tradition, in welcome remarks, Speedway president Doug Boles offered his thoughts about the common challenges and opportunities shared by short tracks and the home of the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 next May.

Workshops presenters included journalist Joyce Standridge, Mark Gundrum of the ARCA Racing Series, 39th Auto Racing Promoter of the Year Gary Howe, social media marketing expert Kristin Swartzlander, and marketing consultant Mike Lysakowski. Gundrum talked with promoters about sponsor partnering strategies; Standridge advocated greater concern for the average weekly competitor, and asked promoters why their drivers must spend up to compete with traveling stars. Swartzlander explained the effect of Facebook algorithmic changes and offered alternative strategies to help promoters strengthen their social media presence, and Lysakowski mesmerized promoters with dramatic examples of why race track advertising should target a broader audience than established race fans. Two additional panel discussions helped promoters analyze the 2015 season and set goals for the 2016 season.

A tour of the Dallara IndyCar Factory followed with a social hour at Lino’s Coffee in the headquarters and manufacturing base of Dallara Automobili S.p.A., the designer and builder of the cars competing Verizon IndyCar Series, and the Indy Lights Series, FIA Formula 1, open wheel and sports car categories, and USCC road racing.

The RPM@Indy Workshop was produced with the special support of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where next May the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 will be celebrated. The 43rd Workshops Series is produced with the year-round support of K&K Insurance Group, Inc., Hoosier Racing Tire. The gatherings are produced with additional sponsorship support from: INEX, Chevrolet Performance, Lucas Oil Products, Firethorn Marketing, RACEceiver Race Communications, Moffett Productions, Advertising Edge, Simes Graphic Designs, Advertising Edge, Sunoco Race Fuels, and IMCA.

The Workshops will continue at the annual RPM@Daytona Workshop, February 14-16, 2016 at the Hilton Daytona Beach.
