Ruined Weekend!!

This is how you ruin your weekend--drive all the way to Malden Speedway (2hours). First night out of the season, win your heat, after 7 laps into the feature (a 20 lap feature) you take the lead and lead the rest of the race till the last lap, last corner before the checkered-- someone hits you in the @$$- 2 times- spins you out.... no checkered flag is thrown, no yellow flag, no black flag, the race is just called. We got 14th place and he got 1st place. The guys that were in 2nd, 3rd, etc, who tore up their cars, were not very happy to be in this "pile up" either. What poor officiating by the Malden Speedway Staff, except the flagman in the corner where the incident happened who said he called for a black flag and could not believe the decision to call the race as is. Then they asked if we were coming back to race the next day!!???:confused:

The fans were crazed, climbing the flag stand (some people we didn't even know). They were yelling at the officials, the main flagman walked out on the track just to get away from the fans. Whatta deal.

By the way, this is Mike Francis, my wife is just typing this for me since I never get on the internet. I just wanted to let you all know "how to ruin my weekend!!!":confused::mad::(
 
Does it ever do any good to vent at the track??? Not that we didn't tell the guy that spun us out how dirty he was, then we spoke very "tactfully" to the owner and staff about our situation. Not that it gets you the "big, winning check;)", but hopefully they will think, for everyone concerned, before they act the next time!!!

I would've went back the next day.....:D:D:D, and refreshed my weekend by ruining his....:eek:

Why drive another 2hrs down and 2 back, then have to fix your own equipment trying to pay back someone else!! What goes around comes around!!!! Our car was good, we have the spirit, just gonna use it a bit closer to home for a while!!! (besides, I'm not even sure he was there Sunday).

Mike, you should know that is just how Malden is, you have raced there enough. They do not make calls against anyone down there.
Last year, we took the E-mod down and had a similar ordeal. We got spun and got sent to the back and the othere guy kept his spot. Bout 2 laps later we returned the favor, quite obviously I might add, expecting and willing to accept a black flag. However, they sent him to the back and gave us our spot back. Needless to say, we haven't been back.

I know you don't race like that....:rolleyes:I was just fantasizing again, lol! He WAS there on Sunday, he finished in the back of the field...
