Has anybody heard anything about the 2017 rules?? I've been trying to get some for months now and haven't heard a peep. I'm in the middle of building a new car for next year. And I'm building it my self not using a chassis shop. And with around 90days left before opening day I need the rules like 3 months ago!!!! If I plan on having it done in time. Looking for. Highland, tri-city, belleville, and brownstone rules. I need them ASAP!!!!!!!!

If I don't get the rules within the next week or so there will be one less car at track until I can get it finished. Sorry I can't afford to buy everything new and have a car built for me in a matter of weeks. I have to build it my self and track down as many used parts as possible so I can afford it. Which takes time!!

I say run what ya brung! This happens every year, i guess they just assume that no one cares about the lower classes beings the late models and modifieds already have a "uniformed" set of rules so they dont need a rules meeting! Just remember these tracks could care less about the lower classes, if its not a late model or modified or a b-mod they dont care! Im being dead serious when i say run what ya brung! What are they going to do? Tell you you cant race? They wont tell everyone that if they all show up with run what ya brung equipment! Think back a few years ago when all the drivers in the street stocks was running adjustable spring spacers..they checked one night all but one of the top ten had them so they went to the next track the next night had them checked and again...same result, come Sunday morning it was put on here that adjustable spring spacers was legal! If all drivers would stick together...what can they do?

As much as I agree with this. I think it's great idea! But if that keeps happening the street stocks will turn into the old sportsman class where they let it go and it fell apart because it was gettingnro expensive. Personally inthunk the street stock rules now are a little to expensive. The main rule for that being the mandated Hoosier tires and then letting chevys run aftermarket heads but not the fords. We should be on street tires!!!! But that's besides the point of we don't have rules soon we will have a run what you bring class and it will fall apart.

I think it's united dirt late model council go to this it should come up if not let me know and I'll look it up good luck to everyone going to be a lot different and unfair for some low budget late model teams

You know what i think the street stock guys should do? After reading Kevin Gundakers comment on a Facebook post about the street stock guys being a bunch of cry babys, i think we all should get together and form a type of union and go to these tracks and say, ok boys this is what we want either you meet us somewhere in the middle or give us what we want! His comment did not set very well with me on this! Apparently he hasnt read any comments on threads for the b-mods! Every time something is posted about them and the rules there is a list of whos who on those threads of people crying about the rules and he has the nerve to make a comment like that when the drivers ask for two things? And Kevin if your reading this.....here's my number your more than welcome to call me and we can hash this out! 618-420-7089. The street stocks are the most shit on class week in and week out and he makes a comment like that! That right there is exactly why my car will not hit his track! Instead of turning his back on us he probably should be helping us, i guess he forgets on a weekly basis our money also goes to help finance the winnings of the over rated late models and mods and b-mods but yet we get shit on! Again...Kevin your more than willing to call me!

Fautfan2...
This is Tammy! We've supported the Street Stock class from day one and have always listened to the driver's and tried to put together a set of rules that the majority agreed on. We've had several special events and kept the class hoping more driver's would support it and keep it growing. Each year we have our rules meeting and 10-12 driver's show up (mostly the same ones each year who have always raced with us) we discuss the rules and majority agrees. Maybe KG gets tired of people thinking he's not trying to make things better regarding the rules. I can tell you first hand he's the kind of promoter driver's want in their corner and always tries to keep costs down and understands the rules better than anyone.
Don't tell me he doesn't listen, he's called all local promoter's to try and get everyone to work together and make things better in our area. Here's my number if you want to call me to discuss any situation you might have 636-448-9111.

He should have had all rules put by now. He seem to forgot how he used to do work on his cars thru the winter months. Other tracks as well have drug their feet on this issue.

That is one reason why Lindell and I quit building cars. Kind of hard to build a car when you don't get rules for the class till mid April..then you are backed up with the other customers because of this stuff. Not to mention you had rules by UMP and track rules also to build around.

the rules ain't out yet because probably they ain't gone change since last year, so build your cars to them rules, now ya' all' quit drinking to much cause this is suppose to be a merry christmas?

Tammy when would be a good time to call and talk to you about a few of the rules? There are a few I would like to talk about Whenever you have time. I know it's the holidays so I don't want to cut into all of that. Thank you

The only rule change in effect for 2017 is:
After market fire walls and floorboards (Sheetmetal not Aluminum) will be allowed but
must remain in stock location and run full width, frame rail to frame rail.

We have always had the rules meeting for the past 11 years the 3rd of January for all classes. Regarding St. Stocks what major change were needed to be discussed?

The main rule I am concerned about is the tire rule. I would like for us to be back on street tires. You can buy a new copper cobra tire of similar size for $70.( There are other options beside that) And a new Hoosier will cost $125. And the street tire will last longer .That is the biggest killer for us and many other car owners. I have also seen where other tracks across the country have going to a rule that says no more than 53% rear weight. It makes the cars more competitive and safer. ( I have seen and read about cars where they skimp on the roll cage to put more weight in the back) And I would also like you guys to allow the Ford's and dodges to run a factory 2 barrel Holley carburetor. The biggest 2 barrel carb that Ford used that wasn't a Holley is only 412cfm. Anything bigger than that and they used a factory Ford Holley carb. You guys are allowing the Rochester to be bored out to 500 c.f.m. this rule should help even that out for everybody
