Revin, put a 1 1/2" restricter in each side of the exhaust. Then that takes care of the carb issue. If you can't get it out it doesn't matter whats coming in.

And no one is putting anything in my motor or exhaust! If my engine builder wanted it there then it would be there! Besides i have seen some of these tech guys and.......i wouldnt let them touch my go cart! Seriously! They are far from engine builders or knowing anything about a engine! Sorry but i will not let this happen to my motor!Revin, put a 1 1/2" restricter in each side of the exhaust. Then that takes care of the carb issue. Just curious.....do you have a dog in this fight? Do you have a street stock you race? Just what is your affiliation to this class thats beings discussed here? I think if you dont drive in this class or race at all maybe you should just go on about your business and keep your comments to yourself! Im all for going back to the no quick steers no racing shocks no spring spacers but i think you need to stop and think for a minute.....all those things that you mentioned have came along way since the "good ol days"! Just remember something, in this class it says all parts must be "OEM" it does not say a word about must match frame and car, so there for the quick steer deal is out of the question because you can buy a steering box from Autozone that is almost as quick as using a quick steer! Didnt think that one out did ya? Spring spacers??? Just buy different size springs....problem solved! All you have to do is use your brain! Go read a post i made a few post up....when you talk about restricting a class and more times than not it ends up costing the racer more! You want more cars on the track.....figure out a set of rules where these guys can buy these old sportsman cars for cheap and build them and be competitive. There is a lot of old sportsman cars just sitting that guys would probably get rid of cheap or possibly build themselves, but the first thing you need for that to happen is TECH, thats first and foremost! You want more butts in the seats.....contact these local malls and get these cars back in the malls like they used to do! Have one guy that should know something about every car there to answer questions should someone have a question, have some hand outs available for people to grab and look over. Hell have the tech guy there doing the questions......hes not doing anything else anyway might as well get your moneys worth out of him since you pay him something on a nightly basis! You would be suprised what you could do if you would just take the time to think it out and put some effort into it! All these promoters have to do is talk to the drivers and see what drivers are willing to take their cars there. See what the malls would charge to use those spaces for 2 weeks, im sure if you ask some drivers if they will help out on the cost of it they would kick in $10 or $20 to help the cause. Why cant we all just work together to make this class grow? You dont want two or three cars just leaving eveyone else in the dust.....talk to the promoter and tech guy and tell them your concerns! Not sure how hard people think it is to just talk to someone!Wasn t really talking to you. Others earlier accusing kevin of working against the racers. the guy runs a track jeez morons. Tracks that run ss class should go back to how Pevely used to do it with the a and b features both at the end of the night.
That is my point. Get them back to a purestock and people would go back. Good post!I liked it when I could just go to auto zone or napa etc. and buy a rebuild kit for about 100.00 bucks and refreshen motor and a new rv cam With oem parts like it says per rules. Not now it a scat rotating forged bottom end, special race cams and lifters. I can't build my motor myself wish I could so I wouldn't have to spend 3000 up to 4000 for a motor. That's why I got rid of mine. I love to race but just can spend the kind of money it takes now to be competive. And yes I did put the time in the garage scaling peeping tires doing maintenance to make sure car was running and handling the best it could. If it ever gets the true bomber/ streetstocks back I might come back. Just can't see it right now. Jmo. Good luck to all that will be racing this coming year.
Just voicing my opinion. Ive seen this story before(death of the sportsmans) and i had a car and drove it back then. Trust me same exact arguments If u dont like it just one of those thingsJust curious.....do you have a dog in this fight? Do you have a street stock you race?
