i hate to see rusty get kicked out, and i was in the same race so i didnt see what happened. has he been warned about this before? it sounds to me it is like getting fired from a job for something you never got warned about. i am sure it would have been better had he handled it differently, but i am sure the officials over-reacted also. and also, i do notice people standing right in the middle of pit road all the time not paying attention, that is their own fault. a parent shouldnt sign their kid into the pits if they dont watch them constantly. i always look both ways before i walk across a road-way in the pits, because there could be a car, or something quieter like a tow truck or golf cart right behind you. bad deal.
