Ryan Markham Scores First Win of 2004

Ashland racer, Ryan Markham, scored his first win of the 2004 season Saturday at Brushcreek Motor Sports Complex in Peebles, OH. Markham was 2nd fast qualifier and finished 2nd in his heat. This lined him up in the 3rd starting spot in the 20 lap main event. Markham took the lead with 4 laps to go. Just as he was about to take the checkered flag a caution came out reverting the race back to lap 18. Markham was able to hold of the field and come home with the win.

Markham, a former Mansfield Raceway Park and Wayne County Speedway track champion, is known for driving his familiar number 5M late model. This season is his driving the co2 car owned by Ernie Norton of Conneaut, OH and will be following the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS). The MACS series has scheduled events in OH, PA, WV, NY, VA, and MD this season. He currently sits 9th in the series points after 3 events.



Markham will be competing this weekend in three MACS event. He will be at Raceway 7 on Friday in Conneaut, OH, Stateline Speedway in Busti, NY on Saturday and Eriez Speedway in Erie, PA on Sunday.
