I've got a 90 chev tk motor I put a carb on and have a strange noise coming from exhaust on rt side. The only place you hear the crackle or popping noise is out the rt side tail pipe. No noise under hood,(ex leak,or mechanical noise) only does it under load,Idles perfectly smooth, and doesn't miss under load I've isolated it to cyl #2, it doesn't make the noise when grounding #2 plug wire. 125-130 psi compression on all cylinders. I did a leakdown,and the valves are sealed tight, so not a valve sealing issue, or head gasket blown between 2 and 4 cylinders. The cam lobes are good also. The egr passage is blocked, but only gets ex gas from cyls 3,4,5,and 6 so that shouldn't matter anyway. The valve springs don't appear to be broken. That is what I suspected initially, or ex valve too tight. Like I said, this thing runs great, just has a strange exhaust note from #2 cyl 25+ yrs, and I thought I'd heard about every noise a 350 ever made....... Thanks, Greg
