Scheduling shows on top of other tracks

I've always been curious as to why promoters do this? For example why would Tri City schedule a $1000 to win mod show when the summer nationals are at Fayette county and they are paying $1000 to win? Is there some bad blood between these tracks??
 
Tri City isn't running late models that night; it seems to me that they're actually working with Fayette County as that's a track that doesn't normally run SLM.

There were a few years when Fayette County wasn't in operation. For some years prior to that and since they reopened they've had SN races.
I'm not a fan of tracks that schedule on top of other tracks but since Tri City isn't running LM I don't see their mod special as problem.
Fairbury used to run a 2K LM special against Kamp's SN every year. That kind of thing is bad for the sport.
 
Fayette Co also ran modifieds against Tri-City's SN show.. So with Tri-City not running late models for Fayette's SN, I'd say they are working with them best they can. They have to have something to put some cars on the track and fans in the stands.
 
I dont know of a lot of people who would go to TCS for a pro 4 or SS show. Not taking anything away from eith class, they just arent classes that draw a lot of fans.

as tri and fayette run the same night on a weekly scedule it doesnt seem like a big deal

BUT for charleston to to add an unsceduled night on a fri that they DO NOT normally run on and cover up fayette sumer nationals is to me anyway a cheep shot to take
 
and i just saw they made it double points on fri with NO extra money trying to keep the mod guys from going to fayette for the extra pay fayette is offering at the SN race
 
Yea I seen that..... double points....... wth.... luckily they don't have .any cars so I don't think it'll cost us more than 2 cars........ and as rough as that place has been it may not effect us at all...... only hurts them they wont have any cars........ but it does suck charlie really builds up and looks foward to the annual summernational show and now he's competing with other tracks........ and I don't think charlie added extra $ to the purse during granite's hell tour race.......

Just wish the local tracks could work together better..... only hurts the sport in general to split the car counts....... fayette included
