Before battling in the UAW-GM 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Oct. 16, veteran racer Ken Schrader plans to spend an evening playing in the dirt.
The Fenton, Mo., native will run his late model in the Mopar Sprint Car Nationals on Wednesday night, Oct. 13, at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Schrader will drive the No. 99 Federated Auto Parts machine in the O'Reilly Southern All Star Racing Series late model portion of the double-header.

Preliminary races for the late models and the sprint cars of the United States Auto Club will precede the main events. The late-model finale will be 25 laps, while the sprint cars will battle for 30 laps around the four-tenths-mile clay oval.

Schrader, a longtim Cup figure, is a former USAC sprint car champion.

A SUPER Ticket offers fans the chance to see all four UAW-GM Quality 500 Week events for $99. Those events are the UAW-GM 500 Nextel Cuprace on Oct. 16, the SpongeBob SquarePants 300 Busch Series race on Oct. 15, pole night on Oct. 14 and the Mopar Sprint Car Nationals on Oct. 13.
