(BRIGHT, INDIANA) Scott James Motorsports competed in the final two Battle of the Bluegrass Series events this past weekend at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY and Florence Speedway in Union, KY. At Ponderosa on Saturday night, Scott won his heat race in his Baylor Trucking / Powell Motorsports #83 BRC Lazer G-2 Monte Carlo and was running third in the $3,000 to win feature event when he fell victim to a flat right rear tire. Scott did not return to the track and was relegated to an extremely disappointing 15th place finishing position.

Saturday night at Florence did not start out any better for the #83 team, as they struggled in the heat race and the consolation event and had to use a provisional to get into the $5,000 to win feature. Scott’s weekend got much better after he got his BRC Lazer G-2 chassis tuned in and up to the sixth place spot by the end of the race. His efforts in the feature earned him the Hard Charger award for the event.

“We had a couple of good runs over the weekend,” said Scott on Monday. “We were battling for second at Ponderosa when bad luck struck us again with that flat tire. Then at Florence, we were coming hard from the rear of the field. Hopefully we will get a little luck this weekend at Eldora and next week at Bardstown.”

“The Silver Shark” continues his “Fin the World Tour 2003” this coming weekend at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH. The annual UMP Fall Nationals is on tap for this weekend and the action kicks off on Saturday with qualifying and heat races. Sunday afternoon will bring the consolation races, special races, and the $10,000 to win feature event. For more information on this event, log on to www.eldoraspeedway.com.
