(BRIGHT, INDIANA) Scott James Motorsports made the long trek to the Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, TX for a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series-sanctioned shows over the weekend. Before the two races, Scott competed in a practice session at the fast oval in Kilgore on Thursday and broke a lifter in his big motor. That put the team behind the proverbial eight ball before the two points races even started.

Scott finished 23rd in the $5,000 to win event on Friday night and 22nd in the $10,000 to win show the following night. The two disappointing finishes dropped “The Silver Shark” back to thirteenth in the WoO Late Model Series point standings. You can read all about the two events at Lone Star at the WoO site at www.worldofoutlawslatemodelseries.com.

“Our car was not as bad as those finishes make it sound,” said Scott on his way to Rhodes Performance in Pennsylvania to get his big motor fixed. “It was a motor track and we had to use a little motor because we hurt our big motor in practice. Then on Friday night, the track was locked down and nobody could pass. Saturday, we were actually pretty good and we got up to around tenth and got bottled up on a restart and I got into the back of (Rick) Aukland. Everybody got on the binders and I couldn’t get stopped in time and it ripped the nose of the car.”

“The competition on the WoO Series is just so tough and you have to be on top of your game each and every night. It is nothing like regional series racing, you are racing against the best of the best, night in and night out. It has been a good learning experience so far, but we are getting our program to where we can run with these guys pretty competitively.”

Scott will be back in competition with the ultra-competitive World of Outlaws Late Model Series this weekend, as he will be at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA on Friday and Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD the following night. Both WoO Late Model Series events will pay $10,000 to the winner. You can learn more about these two events by logging on the WoO website at www.worldofoutlawslatemodelseries.com.
