I was at the race and that is what I thought happened. Martoni got high coming out of 4 and opened up a lane for Weber to make a run, then Martoni tried to cut him off going into turn one. It was basically a racing deal with a bad ending for Martoni.

sure looks like martintoni was there first, weber isnt the cleanest racer, he overdrove the corner getting excited

Uh yea, that's not what I saw. I don't have a dog in that fight but the 48 car without a doubt entered the corner on the bottom then drifted all the way to the top on exit, and Weber kept in on the bottom on exit and pulled right up beside em down the straight. Looks like Bob's the maybe got excited and drove right in over the top of Webers right front. Hard racing from all drivers but thats what we pay to see...but ya mess w the bull u get the horns. Jmo Get well soon Bobby Martintoni

You know what.......seeing the vid was totally different than it looked in the stand. 48 drifted high......weber got his nose in there and the 48 came down. Did weber have the spot toally??No. but could the 48 know he was under his left rear???No. Racing deal. Good video and thanks. Ive had this happen to me alot. You see a guy chasing a line and wondering where can i pass him? Next thing you know.....he is coming down. 9 times out of 10........i braked and got run over over spun out. 1 time i closed my eyes and me and the other guy hit......hard!! But i also made it a point to not be under a lr of anyone in a corner. Too easy for this thing to happen.

These guys have no radios/spotters or rear view mirrors so it's easy to see how this stuff can happen and I'm surprised that it doesn't happen more often.

There's no doubt that it was a racing deal... Bobby came in flat and washed out causing him to lose momentum. Weber got a run underneath and Bobby chopped him off going into the next turn. Bobby probably didn't even know Scott was there. Get well soon Bobby!

Don't know either one of these guys, but the video shows Weber was clearly on the bottom and audio proves he was off the throttle, Martintoni had the run going in from the outside and looks like he decided he better take Webers line away but hadn't quit cleared him. In my eyes, just a hard racin deal

I agree, Howard...

Its a bad deal either way, I really don't think bobby knew weber was under him and yea he cut down on weber but at the same time weber could have avioded hitting him and he didn't. Sometimes holding your ground isn't worth taking someone out, and in this case taking out a guy that is always a clean driver and I really believe wouldn't cut down on someone if he knew he was there.

I really do not know how anyone can say Scott caused that wreck, he was running down on the tires the whole race, it looked like a racing deal to me 2 drivers going for the same piece of real estate just doesn't work it was just a bad deal and Bobby came up on the short end of the stick. I do wish Bobby a speedy recovery and good luck next season !

That was kind of my point. Its like getting in someones blind spot on the highway. You know he cant see you or know your there. If something happens........who really was at fault? The guy who came over not knowing he was there..........or the guy who put hisself there knowing he was going to come down either way? I like Martintoni alot........and he would not have came down if he knew someone was there. Like i said also.....ive been there.......done that. You just got to realize.......if you are there and the guy comes down.....your as much fault as he was because noway can he know your there. Racing deal. Could have been prevented? Yes it could have. Track was fast and both were on the move. Only way to make that happen and not get any flack is if he showed a tire to him to let him know he was there. My rule.....dont show me a tire and its still my track. Most driver's would agree on this as well.

Which tire do you want Weber to show him? His nose is all the way to his door, and Bobby also should of heard Scott's engine. When you run that line you have to be aware that someone could get under you.
I'll tell you what both those guys were on a mission, they passed a bunch of cars and were only a lap or so from passing the 8-Ball. It also shows how well liked Bobby is when you look at all the drivers in Jimmy's pictures of the melee. I sure hope Dee had her head turned when the crash went down.

Cool video, thanks for sharing it. Looks like another good race by the Rocketman. Drove em clean the entire time. Anybody who disagrees that Scott had the line, stop the video at 4:38-4:39, they were pretty much side by side. The stallion knew he was there and tried to slam the door but Scott was already in..probably why we haven't heard from BM on this issue.

Maybe Because Bobby doesnt have a computer and hasnt talked to scott yet himself not trying to start anything but bobby isnt the kind of guy to take anyone out like that without saying sorry or anything in his eyes if he does that to a person he will go at least say he is sorry by the way i am his adopted daughter just so you guys know

Replay the video. Yes.........down the straight Tire was up to Bobby's quarter(i was there.....looked like he was in the lr quarter already). Bobby dove it hard in the turn as weber backed off a little and got the line but weber got a run....and burped the throttle as the 2 hit.....which im wondering.......why do you throttle a car as he is right on your nose??? That didnt help. Replay it. Really.....just get in a race car......put yourselves in this position and your opinions will be a little different. Trust me. As i said earlier. Racing deal. But if Bobby had done this to Weber.........OMG is all i gotta say. Actually.....thread would probably be locked already as the cussing and the threats would be flying.

Ive heard also...........Weber never even went to say he was sorry. Something ever went down with me.......i was the first person over to help the other guy and give him my version of what happened. Sorry...or not..........i always made it a point to go talk to the other guy to make it never happen again and usually we went for a beer afterwards. We as drivers know shmitt happens now and then. Sooner or later.....you are on the bad end of the stick.
