The Season Championship Race Night at Quincy Raceways saw two Track Points Champions take the wins in the Championship Race Night. Mark Burgtorf, Michael Long, Wyatt Lance and Adam Birck took home the Season Championship Race wins with the Track Points Championships going to Burgtorf, Henry Delonjay, Lance and Eddie Dieker.

The Budweiser IMCA Late Models were scheduled to have their Season Championship Race Night on August, 28 but Mother Nature put a halt to that nights action, so the Championship Race Night was on tap Sunday night. Mark Burgtorf wrapped up unpressidented 12th Track Points Championship three weeks ago but by drawing the low number on the redraw, Burgtorf had the pole position for the 30 lap Season Championship Race. Burgtorf took off like a shot at the green flag and was never really threatened on throughout the event, even throught the six restarts after the caution flag flew. Ron Elbe chased Burgtorf in the second position for twenty five laps but gave way to Terry Gallaher with five to go. Gallaher set off in pursuit of Burgtorf but had to settle for second at the checkered flag followed by Elbe in third, Mike Dyche in fourth and Matt Strassheim in fifth. Jerry Weisenberger, Sam Halstead and Burgtorf all took heat race wins with Denny Woodworth taking the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash.

Henry Delonjay started on the pole of the twenty lap Miller Lite A-Modified feature event and looked like he would be a shoo in to take his eighth feature win of the year until his engine soured midway through the event. Michael Long dogged Delonjay for the lead from the fifth lap and took over the lead on lap eleven. Long then pulled away to take his fifth win of the season. Dave Weitholder grabbed the third spot followed by Ted Allen in fourth and Danny Lake in fifth. Long and Delonjay were the heat race winners with Weitholder taking the win in the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash. Delonjay claimed the Track Points Championship by twenty nine markers over Brandon Lennox in second. Lennox was awarded the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash Series Championship by one point over Delonjay.

Wyatt Lance and Tony Dunker had themselves a great battle for the lead of the B-Modified Season Championship feature event with Dunker holding a slight advantage over Lance during the first seven laps but Lance made the bottom groove work to his advantage as Dunker started to fade in the top line. Lance took over the lead on the eighth lap and went on to claim his nineth feature win of the season. Dunker and Robbie Reed battle for the second spot over the final seven laps with Reed taking the spot away on the final circuit to claim second followed by Dunker in third, Jeff Waterman in fourth and Joe Blivens in fifth. Lance and Dunker were the heat race winners. Lance took his first ever Track Points Championship at Quincy over Dunker by twenty seven points. Lance was also awarded the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash Series Championship by fourteen points over Dunker.

Eddie Dieker went into the Season Championship race night with a sixteen point margin over Adam Birck but disaster would strike as Dieker had to borrow a car from Steve Carlin for the Feature event as he had mechanical problems during his heat race even though he picked up the heat race win. Dieker had to start at the rear of the twenty five car field which set up the drama as he had to finish no worse than sixteenth if Birck won the event. The event looked to be probably the best race of the night on paper but that was a pipe dream as at least six yellow flags and a red flag in the first five laps cut the event short as the time limit had to be invoked. Birck managed to hold the lead throughout the five laps and took the win followed by Steve Carlin in second, Jerry Jansen in third, Dusty Bingaman in fourth and Jim Powell in fifth. Dieker managed to avoid all the mayheim and finished in sixth bringing him another Track Points Championship by a margin of eleven points over Birck. Birck and Michael Larsen were the other heat race winners.

The Short Trackers had their feature event finish marred as the winner and third place finishers were Dqed for having engines that too much compression. Josh Kerr was awarded the win with William Lothridge in second, Brandon Savage in third, Jake Powers in fourth and Chris Rees in fifth.
