MANHATTAN, Kan. -- The Shop Quik Racing Team and driver John Anderson have been an absolute roll this year. Their hard work and perseverance have once again paid off as they were named this week as the "Best of the Midwest" in the LateModelRacer.com Central Region rankings.

Their efforts were more than enough to clinch the title by 50 points heading towards the end of the season. As of press time the team has racked up 10 wins, more than anyone else on the rankings. He also had 8 2nds, 5 3rds, and 4 4ths to accumulate his points total.

John was in elite company with the rest of the top 5, which included Don O'Neal, Billy Moyer, Shannon Babb, and Dennis Erb Jr. The Gary Jacob Memorial Central Rankings record every race in the Central United States that pays a minimum $2,000 to win. Each race awards the top six finishers 9-6-4-3-2-1 points respectively. The Rankings are based upon on track performance during the 2007 season.

This weekend the Shop Quik Team travels to the Capital Federal Savings Late Model Showdown at the Lakeside Speedway for the big WDRL/MLRA 2 day event that coincides with the NASCAR events at Kansas Speedway. The event draws a large number of crowds and Anderson is an early favorite to win Friday and/or Saturday night.
