(LANCASTER, KENTUCKY) Kelly Shryock and Jesse Cramer both picked up wins for Team HTL over the Labor Day holiday weekend and both have major events on their schedules for the upcoming weekend. Kelly competed in four USMTS events this past week and racked up one win and three additional Top Five finishes. His win came at the Steele County Fairgrounds in Owatonna, MN on Friday night. The Fertile, IA pilot finished third in his heat race, but came to the front in the $2,000 to win USMTS feature event to get the win. It was Kelly's 24th win of the 2004 campaign.

Kelly was a runner-up finisher in two events last week. He ran second at the Benton County (IA) Speedway on Thursday night and at the Deer Creek (MN) Speedway on Saturday. His worst finish of the week was a third place outing on Monday night at the Dodge County (MN) Speedway. That event was held on Labor Day after Sunday's events were postponed a day due to inclement weather. Kelly currently leads the USMTS point standings heading into the home stretch of the 2004 season.

Fellow Team HTL driver Jesse Cramer, of Bloomington, IN, also reached victory lane in modified action this weekend. The win came Friday night at the Chandler Raceway in Chandler, IN. It was Jesse's seventh win of the season and his first at the Chandler Raceway.

Jesse's #12t machine ran hot at the end of the event at Chandler, which led to the decision to drive Gary Trammell's #4t car Sunday at the Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN. The night did not start out to Jesse's liking, as he was involved in a wreck in his heat race. He rebounded in the B-Main by starting at the rear of the field and winning the event. Jesse hustled the borrowed car around the tight 1/4-mile oval to finish third from his eighteenth starting position in the feature event. Jesse would like to thank Gary Trammell for the opportunity to drive his car on Sunday night.

J.P. Karpowicz and his #2 car took the holiday weekend off and will do so once again this weekend. J.P. will next hit the track in the 'Lake Cumberland Classic' on September 17-18 at the Lake Cumberland Speedway in Somerset, KY.

Next up for Kelly Shryock will be the ever-competitive 'IMCA Supernationals' at the Boone Speedway in Boone, IA. Approximately 400 modifieds will compete in the four-day event. On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week, there will be forty heat races each day. All heat race winners advance to two nightly A-Mains. The top four from each of the nightly A-Mains will advance to Saturday night's 'Supernationals' main event. On Saturday night, the B-Main events will determine the final nine cars to start in the 'IMCA Supernationals'. 33 cars will start the main event and they will start it with a three-wide start.

Jesse Cramer will be in action this weekend in the 'Patriot 100' at the Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN. Qualifying and heat races for the $7,000 to win event will take place on Friday night. Consolation events and the 100-lap 'Patriot 100' will take place on Saturday.
