I was told this series put them on their schedule even though there is no contract signed. There are still several things to fall in place before Mt. Vernon will open.
 
Ya the U.M.P style modified needs a good series and it would be awesome to get more races around here.
 
Come on Tommy give me a break.After last year, and what went on,I will not make a post on the race track opening,until I am 100% sure.It is Bev and I's intention to open and run the track on Sat. nights, and if this happens,we will run Crate LM's,Mods,Sportsmen or Street stock (not sure yet),and 4-cyl's.
We will have, if it opens,some thursday nite Super Lm specials.I know it is an inconvience not to know,but like I said have some paticence.

I do indeed hope you open and pack those stands and pits but all I keep hearing is due to the fact you didnt open last year you lost your grandfather clause for the noise,and a new hospital is going to be built very close to the track? i am not trying to stir soup but its the gossip out where we are at. maybe you could squash these rumors? at least that gives us hope. The last time we ran the track was best it had ever been . just dont want to hear next weekend ,next weekend ,n.... we just geared up our stuff and went racin it was that or kill the dream ,,,,,,we aint dead yet lol

Tommy, I have also heard those rumors,but let me assure you, they are just rumors.What is facts are,as long as I own the track,rather I race it or not,I can have racing anytime there when I want under the grandfather clause.We have recently applied to annex into the city of Mt. Vernon,which at some point will let us apply for a liscense to sell beer. You know me well enough to know,that if it would have been up to just me, the track would have been open last year. I will not rehash old news, as soon as we know 100%for sure. I will post it. Thanks, Rick
 
I know alot of ppl dnt care for Rick Heck but im here to tell u he is a ture racer.I think rick has done alot for us at mt vernon and all over the local area.If its possible i know the vern will be open and we will have our mod there racing i love that track and always will.and rick if ppl cant buy beer there let them bring there own in jmo.And rick i would really love to c burwell in one of ur latemodels lol.

I hate rumors & don't listen to them. You have a awesome track & personell. I don't make it to Mt.V often but like it every time I do. I hope you get the liquor license even tho I don't hardly ever drink. Almost every track that closes don't sell beer. Good luck with or w/out beer.

Saw your post about Jimmy Burwell drivein ricks car this season. He wont be drivein ricks car but will be racing a latemodel at Belle Clair and Highland and Mt vernon if they r goin to run. :D:D:D:D

I'm hoping the track opens, I for one would love to go back and see the track operate and have great shows and i know that if it opens, it will have great shows. good luck Rick with the annexation, and the beer sales, will keep watching for the info on the track.

Now now T.F. you know there is only one thing known fer sure and thats the light does touch your hand when held next to the opposite ear from which the light is pointed :D
