Some projects I am working on

Here is a pic of my current projects. The first one is an old Gremlin body modified, that run at Farmington and Pevely in the '80's. I've only got as far as sandblasting and primer on the chassis, and a new body cut out for it. Next step is to have bumpers and rub rails made and put on. Might have it finished by next season.

The old Monte Carlo was a limited sportsman that ran at Farmington beginning in '85. I've had it since '87. It was run at Fredericktown as a pure stock in the late '90's, with a successful top 5 run in points two years in a row. Maybe not exactly what some would call vintage yet, but I don't see many of them around anymore.

Had a few questions for ya. Been getting a little interested in the vintage cars. Whats the best car to run and where do you start to find something. I work on Late Models weekly and might possibly wanting to get a vintage car. Any info would be great.

the car is up to you, what style you like, and as far as finding one; start talking to people (this is a good place to start) and let them know your interested, ebay motors have some once in awhile. Heres a couple that they have right now.

Ditto what he said^^^^^^^

But make sure it will fit the rulebook as well...;)

I am not a member of the Gateway Vintage Racing, but I'll try to answer the questions that were asked. You could contact Gary Johnson or Jason Brewington for leads on vintage cars available. They usually know whats out there. As for my location, I am 130 miles south of St Louis. There are a few old late models and sportsmen cars around here. I also know where there are a couple of old super mods. The best advice I can give you is, check the Gateway rule book, try to find something that fits their guidelines. Remember, nothing is going to be cheap. The best cars in my opinion are the ones that are nearly complete, if you can find one. They will be more expensive, but about half what it costs to piece them back together.
