Springfield,Mo.-Following a very successful Open-Wheeled Turkey Classic Make-Up,the SpringfieldRaceway has announced an action packed 2009 Racing season schedule with 26 racing dates lined-up for action on the Quick Quarter Mile Dirt Oval.
For the 2009 Racing season,a playday is slated for Sat Afternoon on March 28th with the track open for practice from 1-6 PM.Pitpasses for the playday will be $20 per person.The Grandstands will be free and concessions will be available for sale.
The regular point shows will include the LateModel Racing with the Show-Me Racing Series rules and ULMA Type LateModels,USRA Modifieds,along with SportMods,Bombers and LegendCars.For 2009 the track will sanction the A-Mods with the USRA Banner giving the drivers in Southwest Missouri a 3 night weekend swing and competing for the National Championship.
Opening night will be on Sat April 18th with the Racing action to start at 6PM while Hotlaps start at 5:15.The April dates will find a 6PM starting time to help with the Spring time temps.April 25th will find a regular Points show while the 1st round of SpectatorDrags will be included and all Springfield Firefighters,EMT and Law Enforcement personel will be admitted free with proper ID.
May 2 will see the Racing Action start at 7PM while the fast moving regular points show will also include the BadBoy LawnMower Races to help highlight the evening.
May 9 will not only find Pepsi Night but also kids night at the races as kids 6-12 will only be charged $2 admission and also Kids Bike Races at intermission.
The 1st Special event on May 16th finds the Baddest Modifieds in the Midwest battling the toughest A-Mods as the Touring USMTS Modified Series rolls into the Quick Quarter along with point races for SportMods,Bombers and Legends.
May 23rd the Fastest Sherriff event will highlight the regular points action while May 30th Round 2 of the Spectator Drags and the regular points action rolls on along with Honoring the Past and Present Military as they will be admitted Free.
June 6th and 13th are regular point shows along with special things such as a Bomber Special and Shirner's night.
SprintCar Fans will be in full attendance as the the ASCS Sooner Series Regional event takes to the quick-quarter with support classes.
July 11th Open LateModel fans get to see the O'Reilly MARS LateModels as the track honors the memory of Andy's Frozen Custard John Kuntz.
Other touring series include a return visit by the USMTS Modifieds as part of the Hunt on Aug.13th a Thursday Night Special event with the regular points show on Aug 15th.
Sept 19th the MARS CARS AND STARS return for the Larry Phillips Memorial,while the Show-Me Racin Series LateModels and Nascar's Kenny Wallace battle on Thursday Night October 1st.
