BROWNSTOWN, IL: Race fans throughout the Midwest have begun circling the
date of Saturday, October 25th on their calendars and locating Brownstown,
Illinois on their maps in anticipation of seeing "one last big show" before
the area's auto racing season starts winding down this fall.

The Fayette County Speedway, a large quarter-mile high banked clay oval,
located in the central Illinois community of Brownstown will be the stage
for a spectacular one day show dubbed "The Brownstown Bash" which will
feature Winged 410 Outlaw Sprint Cars, Late Models, Modifieds and Micros.

Promoter Brian Thompson has leased the Fayette County speedplant and is
working hard to bring a great field of cars for the autumn show.

"We're expecting a large contingent of sprint cars and late models from a
five state radius," said Thompson. "The response we've gotten from
competitors has been terrific!"

The region's marquee divisions, sprint cars and late models, will each pay a
$2000 winner's share with $200 to start the main event.

The sprint cars will have a $100 bonus to the highest finishing sprinter
with 360 cubic inch engine.

In addition to the sprints and late models, the popular modifieds and 600
c.c. micro-sprints will be on the program as well with their feature winners
taking home $1000.

The late models and modifieds will race under UMP rules. The micros will
race under the NAMARS banner.

As October 25th is late in the season, every effort will be made to get this
show moving. Hot laps are scheduled for 3 pm and the first heat race will
hit the track at 4:30. In addition, there will be no qualifying. All heat
races will be lined up by pill draw.

"As it's close to Halloween we'll also be giving out candy and beads to all
the kids so make sure when the family comes out you pack a trick-or-treat
bag", Thompson continued. "We're going to make this a fun way to wrap up
the 2003 racing season. October 25th is now less than two months away so
make plans now!"

Several sponsors have come on board to help make this show possible
including Loyett Landscaping and Maintenance of St. Louis.

The Fayette County Speedway is located at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in
Brownstown, Illinois just off Interstate 70 at exit 68 half way between St.
Louis, MO and Terre Haute, IN.

what rules are you running for late models ump or open and what tires are you allowed to run if open rules? Also what kind of entry fee you are going to charge for late models and how many late models are you expecting to have for this event? thanks

Tire Rule and Entry Fee

The tire rule will be the same rule that has been in place for ump late models and modifieds this year. I do not charge any entry fee in any division. Pit passes are $25 for everyone, but no entry fee. As far as car count, I have no idea. I dont know of much running at that time of the year. Most promoters would tell you 50 or 60 but honestly I dont know. I have been and will continue to hand out fliers at many races leading up to the race at Brownstown in hope of a good field.
