St. Louis area racing in early 50's

At one time Wanda Knepper got Jr. Knepper to identify a bunch of these old photos for us, but I lost the list. Maybe she will see these and ask him again. If you'll notice one of the pics are of the K&K midget and if memory serves me correct Jr. Knepper is in that pic. I didn't mean to hijack this thread so if I post any more pics they will be in a new thread of Vintage Race Pics. Maybe just one more here. This is the K&K midget on track again.
THANX RICH
People say I'm getting crankier as I get older. That's not it. I just find I enjoy annoying people a lot more now. Especially younger people.

More walsh info.

The picture of the EAVES TRAILER was taken at the end of the west side stands
(south end). They are parked at the top of the sloped area that led down to the turn 1 - turn 2 end area of the track. I noticed that the drivers names painted on the trailer were Duane Carter and Duke Nalon. I hardly ever missed a Midget race during the last four or five years that the track was open. Most of the Midget races I saw at Walsh were held on Tuesday nights.
I was wondering if anyone recalls the S.A.F.E."Circuit of Champions" Stock Car circuit that raced at Walsh once or twice a season around 1952-53-54? These were new cars. I remember Bob Pronger from Chicago winning a race in a 53 Cadillac. Local driver Al King brought out a new Ford that was probably fresh off the street. It was not stripped out and had the full glass and chrome trim on it. The numbers were masking tape. Pat Kirkwood from Texas drove a new Olds, Mason Bright from Michigan drove a 50 Plymouth business coupe, Don Oldenberg from Chicago and Jimmy Finger from Texas were also there.
In 1955 S.A.F.E. went to Convertibles and the fans loved them. Bill France saw this so at the end of the 1955 season he bought S.A.F.E. and when the 1956 NASCAR season opened, the NASCAR Convertible division was born.

I am writing a story about the 50 plus years I've spent in racing and really appreciate reading the stuff that is being posted on this site.

More later...RBBurben

I'm in the process of restoring the Don Gerstner midget. I'm looking for any historical photos of this car when it raced, any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are some photos of the car when I purchased it.
