The STARS Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts has announced some schedule changes and updates. First off the STARS Battle of the Bluegrass race scheduled on Friday, June 13 at the Legendary Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY has been postponed to a future date, due to the passing of promoter Johnny Bradshaw and paperwork yet to the finalized with the family. The next scheduled event for the STARS Battle of the Bluegrass will be the "June Jam" next Saturday Night, June 14 at the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY. That race will pay $3000 to win. One week later, June 21st will see the STAR Battle of the Bluegrass running at the Soggy Bottom Speedway in Morgantown, KY for a $3000 to win race.
The series will then shift the following weekend to two nights of "Hell Hath No Fury" racing on Friday, June 27 as the series makes its first ever visit to the Clinton County Speedway in Alpha, KY and Saturday Night, June 28 the series will invade the Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY. Both shows will pay $3000 to win.
STARS Battle of the Bluegrass Series Director, Spencer Wilson has also announced that the June 28 and August 23 races at McCoy Motor Speedway in Glasgow, KY have been cancelled by the series. In a phone conversation with track owner and promoter, Billy McCoy, Mr. McCoy was informed of the decision by the racing series to cancel his events. Lake Cumberland Speedway will fill the June 28 date as mentioned above.
The Fourth of July weekend will be "Madness in the Mountains" with a three day showdown, featuring a $5000 to win race on Thursday, July 3 at the Thunder Ridge Racing Complex in Prestonsburg, KY which is a rainout makeup from May 31. On Friday, July 4 the series will make its first ever visit to the Mountain Motor Speedway in Isom, KY for a $3000 to win event and to conclude the holiday weekend on Saturday, July 5 with a $3000 to win race at the 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY.
