Steve Francis Clinches Early Thaw Championship In Arizona
(Ashland, KY) Steve Francis piloting the #15 Moring Motorsports owned Valvoline/Mopar powered Rocket Chassis Dodge clinched the 2004 Early Thaw Series championship at Central Arizona Speedway by scoring 5 top-5 finishes and 2 wins in the five event series. Francis was the only driver throughout the Arizona events that won two events, which lead to the Kentucky Colonel’s career first Early Thaw title.
“Larry and his crew gave me some fast cars in Arizona, and I am happy that we gave Mopar and Valvoline some wins this early in the season,” states Francis. “We are leaving this weekend for Florida, and hopefully, take the momentum from Arizona and win some races in Florida and the WoO,” concluded. Francis’ next event will be the World of Outlaws Late Model Series inaugural event at Volusia Speedway Park in Daytona Beach, FL on February 2. Steve will also compete in the six race United Midwestern Promoters sanctioned events at Volusia Speedway Park starting on February 9.
Steve’s racing efforts in the 2004 season will be sponsored by Mopar and Valvoline along with additional support from Moring Motorsports/Freeport Recycling Centers with chassis provided from the Mark Richards owned, Rocket Chassis and engines supplied by Gary Stanton.
