CARTERSVILLE, GA – The StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Tour returns to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS this Saturday night for a 50-lap $3,000-to-win main event. It will be a battle of champions looking for supremacy on the 3/8-mile clay oval that historically has lent itself to two and three-wide racing.

David Gentry of Lewisburg, TN is the defending StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Champion. One of Gentry’s seven wins last season came at Whynot Motorsports Park over the Labor Day weekend.

Gentry picked up the win at the last StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Touring win on April 21 at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS, and took over the point lead coming into the this Saturday night’s Whynot Motorsports Park event. Gentry leads Frank Ingram of Woodstock, GA by eight points.

Along with his recent win, Gentry also has four top five finishes, six top ten finishes, and one fast time honor in eight starts. Gentry will be looking to keep his fast momentum going at Whynot Motorsports Park this Saturday night in Round nine of the 2007 StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Touring season.

Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS is the defending StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion, and the defending Whynot Motorsports Park Late Model Champion. Keeton posted six wins last season at his home track, and will be out to defending his home turf when the StormPay.com DLMS National Touring drivers come calling this Saturday night.

Like Gentry, Keeton has also put himself in a position to defend his 2006 championship. Keeton already has three wins in StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region competition in the first five weeks of competition, and is fresh off a victory at Whynot Motorsports Park. Keeton is the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region point leader.

The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series gives drivers competing at weekly tracks like Whynot Motorsports Park an opportunity to compete on the national stage against other weekly competitors at other tracks without having to travel. The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series uses a common set of rules using a points system based on a driver’s 16 best finishes.

This Saturday night’s event at Whynot Motorsports Park will be a rare occasion to see the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Touring Champion take on the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion on his home track.

Following Gentry and Ingram in the StormPay.com DLMS National points chase is Derrick Rainey of Powder Springs, GA. Rainey trails Ingram by 14 points. Ingram and Rainey will both be looking for their first wins of the season this Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Blair has one win, and six top five finishes in seven starts. Blair is only 40 points behind the point leader Gentry.

Chip Brindle of Chatsworth, GA leads the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series Rookie of the Year points, and is fifth overall in the National Touring points standings. The 21-year-old driver has two wins, five top ten finishes, and two fast time awards in the first eight events of the season.
