Stormpay.com Dlms Series Will Re-draw For Columbus, Ms Qualifying

CARTERSVILLE, GA – StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series officials have announced that competitors will redraw for their qualifying spots for this Saturday at the rescheduled 40-lap $3,000-to-win event at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS. The race was rained out last Saturday before anyone turned a wheel, and it was rescheduled for this Saturday.

StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series officials have said that they have been in contact with several teams over the past couple of days, some that wouldn’t be able to return this Saturday, but even more that weren’t there last Saturday that indicated they would coming this Saturday.

Because of the number of new teams coming this Saturday, StormPay.com DLMS officials have decided to redraw the field for qualifications. There were 53 cars registered before the rains came last Saturday, and even more are expected for this Saturday’s rescheduled race.

The event is a part of the 7th Annual Possum Town Grand Prix at Columbus Speedway, and the final StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series points race of 2007. Seven of the top 10 points positions for the StormPay.com DLMS, including the National Champion, will be decided this Saturday at Columbus Speedway.

The Crate Racin’ USA Race of Regions and Race of Champions for the top StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series drivers from the West, East, and South Regions, and the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Track Champions will also be run at Columbus Speedway on Saturday. These events will be run during the Saturday afternoon session of racing.

On Saturday night, the StormPay.com DLMS National Tour will be in action with Qualifying, B-Main Races, and the 40-lap $3,000-to-win main event. The pit gate will open at 10 a.m., as will StormPay.com DLMS Registration and Tech. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m., and the afternoon session of racing is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

Columbus Speedway is located seven miles east of Columbus, MS on U.S. Highway 82. Exit at Stokes Rd exit, then go left 1.5 miles north on Pleasant Hill Road, and then right on Lacy Road.
