CARTERSVILLE, GA – Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN and Thunder Valley Raceway in Salem, IN will run a limited StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series schedule by joining Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, IN for the 2007 season. The three tracks will combine to host 21 StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series this season.

The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series will give Hoosier State Crate Late Model drivers an opportunity to compete for a point fund among the three tracks. In addition to that, 19 of those 21 races will earn drivers StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Regional points, and an opportunity to cash in on the Regional point fund against drivers at other StormPay.com WRS tracks.

The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series season begins on March 30, and runs through September 30. Each driver’s point total will come from their best 16 finishes. Twin Cities Raceway Park will host 14 StormPay.com WRS Regional points events, and two non-regional points events. Brownstown Speedway will present three StormPay.com WRS Regional points events, and Thunder Valley Speedway will host two.

With this new three-track alliance in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series, the series has announced it will no longer be involved with the Indiana Crate Series.

“We just could not come to an agreement with the Indiana Crate Series officials concerning race procedures and formats that fit the needs of the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series,” StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series Director and Founder Mike Vaughn said. “It was a mutual agreement that we go our separate ways.”

Vaughn said that he and the promoters of Twin Cities Raceway Park, Brownstown Speedway, and Thunder Valley Raceway agreed that this alliance is the beginning of building a strong foundation for crate late model racing in Indiana.

“After talking with Twin Cities Raceway Park and Thunder Valley Raceway Promoter Mason Fleetwood, and Brownstown Speedway Promoter Tim Keithley, we all agreed it would be in the best interest of all of us to concentrate on building a solid weekly program for the Indiana crate late models among the three tracks before pursuing a regional series,” Vaughn said. “Once that is established, and the car count comes up, then it will be time to look at a Regional series.”

GM Performance Crate engines power the StormPay.com Dirt Late Models in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series. They are built and sealed at the factory to prohibit any expensive modifications to the engine. The engines are shipped to GM dealers across the nation, and are readily available to racers at an economic price.

The 400-horsepower aluminum-head 604 engine sells for right at $5,000, and the 350-horsepower 602 engine sells for right at $3,000. The dirt late models powered by the 602 engine also receives a 150 pound weight break.
