super fly

i remember him very well. my dad was a crew member on jerry schmitt's car, and jerry and bo built frames together a few times. it was a cross between smith and schmitt....so they called it a smitt chassis.

he bowls and has his harley. Bo has his own tool an die comp. that takes up the rest of the time. He has made a few componets for the 55 of Marty Smith Jr this past yr an was on the car as a sponsor.

the old white late model i run from time to time is actually the last car that bo's dad built,it started out as a wedge car,won several races inculding a fair race at highland,i ran second that year but darn if i can remember what year that was,tom cut the wedge body off, moved the motor forward and made it a late model in the mid 90s..part of the frame work for the wedge body is still there, could strip tyhe skin and restore it to its original wedge shape,,the setback motor mounts are still in the car....if i dont get my other lm going it will be at bellville this friday

The Smiths

I remember hanging out at the races with Bo, Dixon,Hammerle, and all the others at The Kitchen in Pevely. Those were the good old days. What ever happened to Bo's sister Toni? She was hot!!

Man bo could drive a racecar i remember the one time he wrecked though at belleville flipped on the front stretch and got as high as the top of the fence......other than that all i remember is "and the winner is superfly bo smith"

Superfly

Man, those Superfly Chassis were fast and awesome looking cars. Bo. Eddie Dixon, and I think Terry Hall drove one. I wish racing was still like those days.

Years ago, when they used to run Camero's and Firebirds as late models at Tri-City there was a guy running there named Bo Smith, was that the same Bo Smith your talking about, or his Father. If it was the same one then he would have to have been really young at the time.

Does anyone have any pictures of his old cars? Don't remember the Allied cars, and only barely remember hearing about the wedge.

My Aunt Judy has several pictures of Bo's old Modified and Late Model w/SuperFly on it and then when he went to race for Hill Bros. I will ask her to let me borrow them and scan a few for you.

Her albums were in a flood I think but the pictures are ok just hard to peal away from the album pages I will see what I can do.

Bo Smith and Danny Moser were my favorite drivers back then, my sister's was and still is Mike Hammerle and my cousin was an Ed Dixon fanatic. I like most all of the drivers actually. I remember Van Buerler (spelling) drove the 18 for Janeke Family then Jeff Johns. I had my Jr Fan Club Pictures taken with Danny Moser and Jeff Johns old Limited Sportsman when he drove for K-She 95.

Anyway nice trip down memory lane, I will see what I can do to get some old pictures on here.
