Wheatland, MO (December 6, 2007) -

Every road leads somewhere and that statement is just about as obvious as telling you where "The Road to Wheatland" ends. Of course it ends at the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" in Wheatland, Missouri. In the minds of dirt late model racers and fans, they should probably change the town's name to the Emerald City.

They call it the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" and it rises out of the Southwest Missouri plain like Oz on the horizon. It is the palace that Forrest Lucas built but there is no smoke and mirrors here, no little man pulling levers behind a curtain, simply the nicest dirt track in the Nation. It is the true destination of Jasper Engines Road to Wheatland, it is the Lucas Oil Speedway and The 2nd Annual Diamond Nationals presented by SuperClean.

It is already billed as one of the biggest and best dirt late model races in the country. For 2008 the SuperClean Diamond Nationals will boast a $40,000 pay off to the winner as part of one of the largest late model purses in the Nation. The Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Touring Series will be in the house and ready to defend its home against all comers in this annual open late model battle May 9th and 10th.

Last season at this event, the racecar and fan counts were tremendous. In fact, the last time the Lucas Oil Late Models visited, the track broke an attendance record as almost 7,000 die hard race fans packed the speedway nearly to capacity. Another two million plus from around the country viewed the taped broadcast on SPEED CHANNEL and the Versus Network. The 2008 event will also be a nationally televised race.

The Diamond Nationals presented by SuperClean will be the first of multiple taped and televised events from the Lucas Oil Speedway this season. ESPN2, SPEED CHANNEL, and the Versus Network will all make multiple appearances in 2008. Their combined goal is to leave Wheatland, MO with 12 to 14 shows in the can for national broadcast over the next 18 months.

The Lucas Oil Speedway makes it easy for these production companies as they are practically a television production studio on dirt. However, the Musco Sports Lighting and an amazing Bose stadium sound system not only make it easy on the TV crews, it also creates an awesome experience for the fans. The Diamond Bar, 21 Luxury Suites, Giant Jumbo Tron Screen, huge midway area and some of the best track food in the country don't hurt either.

Track General Manager Kevin Greven said he and his entire staff are excited to once again welcome the racers and fans from the Jasper Engines Road to Wheatland, HOME to the Lucas Oil Speedway.
