SuperClean Diamond Nationals Set for May 8 & 9 at Lucas Oil Speedway

CORONA, CA (May 4, 2009) - One of the most anticipated events on the 2009 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and O'Reilly MLRA Late Models schedule will take place on May 8th and 9th at "The Diamond of Dirt Tracks" Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO.

The Third Annual SuperClean Diamond Nationals will be on tap with a top prize of $30,000 to the winner. The weekend will start off with Time Trials on Friday Night, May 8th for the Lucas Oil Late Models and O'Reilly MLRA Late Model Series. Then on Saturday Night, May 9th will be Heat Races, B-Mains and the 75-lap main event. The cameras of SPEED Channel will be on hand to tape the event for a 2-hour broadcast on a date and time to be announced in the future.

Previous SuperClean Diamond Nationals winners Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA and last year's champion Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, IL are expected to be on hand to battle with the tough competition from the touring series drivers and the outstanding group of regional and national drivers expected to compete at Lucas Oil Speedway next weekend.

The Sunoco Race Fuels "Road to Wheatland" has been a rousing success with 22 drivers having perfect attendance heading into the SuperClean Diamond Nationals. Those drivers include: Scott Bloomquist, Earl Pearson Jr., Billy Moyer, Ray Cook, Jimmy Owens, Scott James, Dale McDowell, Josh McGuire, Don O'Neal, Steve Casebolt, Jeep VanWormer, Eric Jacobsen, Dan Schlieper, Bart Hartman, Brad Neat, Donnie Moran, David Breazeale, John Blankenship, John Mason, Freddy Smith, Tommy Weder Jr. and Michael Walker.

"We are so excited to be back at Lucas Oil Speedway for the SuperClean Diamond Nationals this weekend. We are already out here in Wheatland and we have a great forecast. With the $2000 added bonus from Sunoco for the driver with perfect attendance that runs Sunoco Race Gas and wins the SuperClean Diamond Nationals. A preview of the Third Annual SuperClean Diamond Nationals will be on Tuesday Night, May 5th during the Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour. The live one-hour show is broadcast live starting at 8 PM Eastern/7 PM Central on www.DirtCast.com.

The tire rule for the SuperClean Diamond Nationals weekend will be: Hoosier 1300, 1350, 1600, LM20, LM40 and Shoulder Plated D-55 and American Racer SD44, SD48 and MD56.
