Even though i moved up to a modified this season my two favorite classes to watch still are the sportsmans and pure stocks. The pure stocks would be a great addition to the program at pevely. Hopefully they support this race in two weeks to show that it would be worth it.

In regards to dropping a class. That would be the dumbest thing ever. The sportsmans at pevely draw roughly 25 cars on average. Why would you drop them? Pro 4 cars also draw a good car count. Yeah them cars are definately not my cup of tea but they are there having fun and virtually racing for nothing at a weekly show. Thats alot of money in the promotors pockets. So they will not drop them.

I think pevely is one of the few tracks that only runs 4 classes of cars. Most tracks are running either 5 or 6 divisions a night. If you want racing to continue in this area then dont complain about another class being added to the schedule. The more cars and pit member that come in the more money in the pocket which means less chance of financial problems that would result in shutting down. So if you dont like a class then take ur food or bathroom break when they race. Simple as that.

You people that worry about time, need to look around. I55 has less classes than any of the other STL tracks. If Ray thinks adding them would help support the track, I'm all for it. It may take a few to build up the car count, but hey the 4cyls first night ever they had 2 cars. I've always thought I55 need them. Racers who want to move outta the Pro 4's have a big jump to go to a sportsman.

I'm, with you Smallwood. The sportsman and pure/street stocks are my favs too. Then mods and lm's. I'm sure the "real" race fans think that's insane not to have lm's at the top of the list.....lol

I say let them run and get budlight back in the house and you might get a better crowd..

the pure streets would be a great adition to the show very competitve class with a growing number of cars in the area with the rising cost of racing and bad economy its the only way to go

we will be there to run on the 13th and support this new adventure. never understood why they didnt run pure stocks weekly but were always welcome at pepsi nationals. If highland can get in 7 classes when they add kidz mods dont see why adding a fifth class will be that time consuming. personally i think belle clair runs about the fastest show around usually wrapped up by 10 30 with there classes and plenty of time for folks to come down and visit with drivers jmo

I think those who mention time and not wanting to be there "all night" just aren't fans of the division. They will be there any way. It's obvious mods and lm's can't carry a track by themselves.

I agree good place for 4cyls to move up to and maybe some sportsman racers who struggle to compete to move back to. jmo

If they add them next yr, I'll be there..........I love tcs, but leaving work early on fri isn't real popular w/employer. conflict of interest I guess? highland is 45 mi, tcs 35 mi, belleville(although on fri also) 25 mi pevely is only about 10 mi.

Didn't they eliminate dash's to save time and now they want to add a class?

It would be nice to get straight up honest reasoning from the track. For the record, I'm a fan of the SS, they are fairly similar to the sportsmans and I get the reasons for adding them. Just wish the track would be more honest when it comes to why they do something.

I say add them if they had them at pevely the past couple of years i might still be racing and if they add them full time next year then well... I just might have to build another car I always enjoyed racing there for the nationals just wished they would do it all season long

take away dashes to save time i don't think so since it only takes 17 minuites to run all three dashes check out video that was put on here of 4/11/09 dash 2 minutes 04 seconds.

Yes it would be great to see them again. It would also be great for the guys that want to move up or down that cant afford sportsman. They do need to tech. them though so the class doesnt get carried away like the others. I have one in the process of being built and will be there for sure.

its funny how everyone talks about the time it takes to run this class the last time we raced at belleville our feature took less then 3 mims to run or something like that when can you ever recall when a lm or mod feature ran straight threw and at belleville i think our car count is always up i think i seen a mod feature with 13 cars in it and the same with the lm just sayin

Dave, I think it's simply the fact that tracks are feeling the hit from the economy of the last few years. It's took longer than I expected. Another class = more pit pass sales and people they bring with them.

As far as the dashes? Not sure exactly why they eliminated them. But many tracks across the country don't run them. I like everyone else enjoyed them. But since they have been gone I have also noticed how features are a lot of times better cuz the passing in the front has increased. Not as many front row winners cuz the good guys secured the front row in the little 6 laps dash race. jmo

If you talk to most of the drivers they would rather not run dases anyway. Its more wear and tear more gas use up tires and for little money.

economicly (probably spelt wrong) would be a good move. and for the time, what else do you really have to do the next day to add an extra half hour of good ole fashoion dirt track racing?
