LEXINGTON, KY (April 9, 2007) - After taking the Easter Weekend off the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series roars back into action this Saturday Night, April 14th at the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN. The track known as the "The Taz" will host the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the third time ever with a complete show for the touring pros with LifeLong Locks Time Trials, Hawk Brake and Quarter Master sponsored heat races, Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and Penske Shocks sponsored B-Mains and the $10,000 to win/$700 to start "Toyota of Knoxville" sponsored 75 lap A-main event.

The visit to one of the tours most action packed venues will see the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series come into town with seven different winners in the first seven events held this year. Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR is the current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point's leader after winning the last contested event back on March 31st at the Brownstown (IN) Speedway. Other drivers who have visited victory lane in '07 with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series include; Rick Aukland of Zanesville, OH, Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, WV, Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, IL, Steve Shaver of Vienna, WV and Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN.

Two-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Points Championship runner-up Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN comes in Tazewell second in points behind Moyer followed by Terry English of Benton, KY, Matt Miller of Waterville, OH and Dan Schlieper of Sullivan, WI the 2007 DART Winternationals Points Champion at East Bay (FL) Raceway Park back in February.

The rest of the top ten in points coming into the event at "The Taz" are Shannon Babb, Josh Richards of Shinnston, WV, Two-time and defending series champion, Earl Pearson, Jr., Scott Bloomquist, the leading winner on the series tour in 2006 and 2005 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Rookie of the Year, Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN.

Damon Eller of Crumpler, NC sits atop the COMP CAMS "Rookie of the Year" standings after the event at Brownstown Speedway. Eller takes a slim 20-point lead over Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY in the chase for the '07 rookie award which is worth $10,000. Ricky Arms of Moss, TN, Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY, Mike Mataragas of De Kalb, IL and Garrett Durrett of Simsboro, LA is the balance of the six drivers competing for the coveted award. Scott James and Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN are the two previous Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series "Rookie of the Year" award winners.

In the two previous visits to Tazewell Speedway Eastern Tennessee residents Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN and Scott Bloomquist have gone home with the money and the trophy for winning Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned events at the 1/3 mile high banked dirt oval. Owens' win came in 2005 when the series visited the track for the very first time and last year Bloomquist, the current track record holder at Tazewell won last May which at that time was his third win in what would be a series leading nine overall victories last year.

Track owner Gary Hall has posted $500 cash to the driver who can break Bloomquist's existing track record of 11.103 seconds which was set on June 28, 2003. If more than one driver breaks the track record the driver with the fastest time will receive the cash. Also the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series continues its early season bonus program for the highest finishing non-series regular. A $600 cash bonus will be up for grabs to a local or regional driver who competed in three or fewer series events in 2006.
