Team Gateway's Jr. Dragster Squad Shows Their Winning Spirit at the O'Reilly's Jr. Dragster Divisional Championships
Madison, IL - Team Gateway's Jr. Dragster squad traveled to Terra Haute Indiana's Wabash Valley Dragstrip with divisional championships on their minds. The most dominant showing came in the 8 and 9 year old division. Team Gateway's Kelsey Beimfohr (Edwardsville, IL), Jessica Schaeffer (Trenton, IL), Chris Lidy (Dieterich, IL), and Kevin Fisher (Monroe City, MO)made up an all Team Gateway semi-final. Beimfohr went on to win the event, her first divisional championship, and the first for her family, which includes her sisters Shannon and Taylor, whom also race jr. dragsters.
Austin Suhre (Worden, IL) also had an impressive showing for Team Gateway. The first year racer was the runner-up in the 10 through 13 year old division.
Team Gateway also shared in the event's special awards. Team Gateway member Zach Lueker's (Kirkwood, MO) jr. dragster was awarded the Best Engineered Car. Additionally, Team Gateway was awarded the Track/Team Spirit Award for their high car count, team spirit, sportsmanship, and awesome victory lane celebrations.
Team Gateway's Jr. Dragster squad will be heading to Indianapolis this weekend to participate in the Jr. Dragster Race of Champions.
