The annual 100 lap race at Macon has a new sponsor, now called the 95Q Behind Pit Wall 100, but some things are still the same. In years past this race was billed as the locals against the travelers. For only the third time since the beginning in 1981, an out of state driver won, with Terry English showing the way. Bob Pierce turned in fast time at 10.600, less than one tenth of a second off the track record, of the 40 late models on hand. English beat Joe Ross Jr in the dash to set up the front row for the feature. Heats went to Billy Moyer, Kevin Weaver, Shannon Babb and Kyle Logue. Semi features went to Justin Allgaier and Garret Durrett. Ross started out with the lead, only to have Don O'Neal pass him on lap 3, then O'neal would pull in 4 laps later. During a rash of yellow flag fever, the field got strung out. As the laps wore down, several other challengers would fall by the wayside, including Moyer, Babb, Van Wormer, Ed Bauman.
