Test run for re-aligned classes at Bedrock................

No problem Steve. Please pass the word that these rules will be finalized by February 12th. I would like to have the 2012 rules posted on the website next week.

Please clarify on this.. from my understanding, you want to pay $200 to claim a motor, plus give up your own? if this is the case, the $300 claim would still be cheaper and you get to keep your original motor still. the point of the claim is to buy someone else's motor. it seems a bit odd that one would want to give up their own motor for the claim as well..

Just my opinion... I personally do not like the claim rules considerring the clones are going down the same path as the flatheads and not many motors are being built from home anymore. The claim rule was a great idea when the clone class originally started and had great intentions. But the truth is that the costs of a race ready clone is higher than $200 now days. Just browse engine builders sites. However, rules are rules and AKRA has a $200 claim rule. I will go for whatever rule Bedrock decides to do.

Justin, this is just my thought/opinion. Like I said, I will go with whatever you decide so I agree with whatever the majority decides on.

If there is going to be tech this year, as stated at meeting, I don't see the claim rule being a factor. Most everyone has a motor they have gotten from a builder and have at least $400 in them. If the 206's take off and keep getting the attention of everyone who is looking at running a "claimer or sealed motor" class, they will be leaving the clone class for this new class anyway. I would say keep it the way you have it written now.
Most guys are gonna be happy about tech anyway if they are that worried about what someone else is running.

Claiming an engine will be $300 or $400 if the billet flywheel is included (minus the clutch/chain guard/throttle kit, header pipe/muffler, air filter adaptor/air filter, top plate & fuel pump). I can assure everyone you will be randomly teched more often this year.

"Randomly" means you will not know you are going to be teched until after your race.

Clone rules are set.

2012 AKRA with 3 Bedrock exceptions:
1. open clutch
2. any muffled header
3. flywheel material is non-tech. All other flywheel specs/rules are enforced. Aftermarket flywheels are not required.
