(Paducah, KY) In less than 10 days, NASCARS’ most popular driver as voted by the fans, Dale Earnhardt Jr will return to Paducah International Raceway for NASCAR Night I presented by Harrah’s Metropolis Hotel& Casino Thursday May 3, 2007. Joining Earnhardt Jr. will be 2-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart.

Stewart who has competed in all of the previous NASCAR Nights at PIR will once again compete in his BASS PRO SHOPS Late Model racecar. In his last attempt at PIR, Stewart took his BASS PRO SHOPS #20 from the 13th starting position in the feature race to finish 3rd in a race that saw “Smoke” running multiple grooves on the 3/8th mile high-banks. With the laps winding down the leaders new that the Champ was on his way to the front.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been in the media a lot lately with the press talking about his race team JR Motorsports and his future at Dale Earnhardt Incorporated with his contract set to expire at the end of this season. As negotiations continue Dale Jr. is as busy as ever. His TV show “ Back in the Day” relives the races of the “old school days” featuring Cale Yarbrough, the Alabama Gang, David Pearson and the King Richard Petty plus many more. On Thursday May 3rd, 2007, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be back at Paducah International Raceway, a track that he Co-Owns with NASCAR drivers Stewart, Ken Schrader and Midwest promoter Bob Sargent.

The gates will open for NASCAR Night I presented by Harrah’s Metropolis Casino & Hotel at 2pm with an autograph session tentatively scheduled for 4:30pm. Reserved tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under and are available by calling 270-898-SHOW (7469).

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ken Schrader and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of Co-Owners as a partner in September of 2006. The 3/8th mile high banked oval will host several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights, The USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge.
