The Inaugural Circle K "Colossal 100" Up Next for the Lucas Oil Late Model Series

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series gets set for the first mega dirt late model event of the 2006 racing this Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22 as the Inaugural Circle K "Colossal 100" comes to The Dirt Track@Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. The 100 Lap $50,000 to win "Colossal 100" which will start 36 cars and pay $2,000 to start. The total purse for this event is $200,000.

The 10th event of the 2006 season for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series as Dresden, OH's Donnie Moran now on top of the National Points Standings holding just a ten point advantage over defending series champion, Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL. Last year's series runner-up Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN currently sits in third place with Dennis Erb, Jr. of Carpentersville, IL and Doug Horton of Bruceton Mills, WV rounding out the top five drivers heading to Lowe's.

Matt Miller of Waterville, OH leads the next five drivers inside the top ten with last year's rookie of the year, Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN, Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, WV, Steve Francis of Ashland, KY with Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN and Freddy Smith of Seymour, TN tied for 10th in points coming into the "Colossal 100".

A very competitive "Rookie of the Year" battle is taking shape with Casebolt leading the way presently followed by Brady Smith of Solon Springs, WI, Michael England of Glasgow, KY, Corey Conley of Wellsburg, WV, Steve Hillard of Sadorus, IL and Damon Eller of Crumpler, NC the six drivers chasing the coveted title as top rookie on the series tour.

It will be the second ever visit to The Dirt Track@Lowe's Motor Speedway for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series as in 2005 it was Grayson, KY's Jackie Boggs scoring the win in the series' first ever visit to the ultra modern facility. Tickets for this event are sold on a reserved basis only and maybe purchased by calling 1-800-455-FANS or online at www.lowesmotorspeedway.com. Tickets are $49 for adults, $19 for kids 12 and under. Again all seats are reserved and include Friday admission. Two day pit passes are $60 in advance.
