(BRIGHT, INDIANA) “The Silver Shark” hit the road again last weekend with the World of Outlaw Late Model Series, this time at the fast high-banked oval of Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN. Scott qualified seventh amongst the stellar field of dirt late models last Friday night for the unsanctioned, Duayne Hommel Benefit event, which earned him an inside fourth row starting spot for the $3,000 to win feature event. The #83 hung around the Top Ten throughout the race and finished in the eighth place spot.

Saturday night at Bulls Gap was not as good for Scott and the team, as they could never find the handle on their Baylor Trucking / Powell Motorsports #83 BRC Lazer G-2 / Rhodes Monte Carlo. Scott earned a provisional after not making the $10,000 WoO show through his heat race and consolation event. After the 60-lapper was in the books, Scott found himself in the 22nd position. After seven events, Scott finds himself thirteenth in the World of Outlaw Late Model Series point standings.

“It was an up-and-down weekend for us at Bulls Gap,” said “The Silver Shark” yesterday. “We were really good on Friday night and we were pretty competitive. I was battling with those guys and we were gaining on Chub (Frank) and he finished fifth. Then on Saturday, we were just horrible. We flat out missed the setup all night long and we were lucky to make the show on the provisional. We will just regroup and try to get it right this weekend at Florence.”

Florence Speedway in Union, KY will be the next stop on the Fin the World Tour 2004. The ½-mile, high-banked facility outside of Cincinnati, OH will open its gates for the first time this weekend with a $2,000 to win special event. Scott captured one feature victory at the speedway in 2003 when he captured the $5,000 to win Ralph Latham Memorial last May.
