The sun will set on Paducah International Raceway’s Silverado Sunset Promotion Friday

(Paducah, KY. 9/5/06) This Friday night will conclude Paducah International Raceway’s Silverado Sunset Promotion sponsored by Chevrolet Racing, and Cache River Chevrolet in Ullin, IL.

Throughout the inaugural season at Paducah International Raceway, lucky race fans have had the opportunity to register to become a qualified contestant to win a new 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup. Contestants were picked and qualified in front of the PIR crowds on race nights starting back on June 2nd 2006 with the final contestants being qualified this past Friday night at PIR. In all 60 race fans were qualified in a contest that saw entries from several states across the country come in.

On Friday September 8th, 2006 (weather permitting), all 60 qualified contestants will be given a key to a locked box. Inside the locked box will be the key to the 2007 Paducah International Pace Truck courtesy of Cache River Chevrolet. The lucky race fan that has the key to open the box will then open the PIR Pace Truck and will be the winner of a new 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup truck, The Official Truck of Paducah International Raceway.

Don’t forget there will be racing as well with a full show of UMP Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks as well as CARS Crate Late Models, Outlaw Mini Sprints and the Wild 4-Cylinder Warriors. The Late Model season Championship race will tighten up, as point leader Terry English will miss Friday’s competition due to a conflict with a race at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Kevin Cole, currently second in points could close the gap significantly with a good night.

The gates open at 5pm for Silverado Friday at PIR sponsored by Chevy Racing and Cache River Chevrolet. Tickets are $10 for Adults and Kids 12 and under are Free.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ken Schrader and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. The 3/8th mile high banked oval will host several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights, The USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge. Paducah International Raceway races every Friday night and is located of Interstate-24 at exit 11 in Paducah, Kentucky.
