BATESVILLE AR. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Mid-America Racing Series will be right back in action this weekend. The series will make the first of two visits to the Tulsa Speedway on Friday, June 20. Charlie's Chicken, a chain of 35 restaurants, has been signed as the title sponsor for Friday's event at Tulsa and the race has been dubed the Charlie's Chicken 40. Bill Frye won the series's inaugural trip to Tulsa in 2002.

On Saturday, June 21, the series will pay it's first ever visit to the Thunder Valley Speedway in Fayetville, Arkansas. RTM Factory Direct is the title sponsor of the race, which will be called the RTM Factory Direct 40. Both events will pay $3,000 to win, and guarentee each feature starter $500.

Terry Phillips, of Springfield Missour, continues to be the man to beat on the O'Reilly M.A.R.S. tour in 2003. Phillips opened a little breathing room in series points over the weekend. Phillips ran seventh Friday night at Batesville, but came back for his fifth win of the season in a trilling two and three wide battle Saturday at the West Plains Motor Speedway.

Jeff Taylor of Batesville, Arkansas, moved back into second place over the weekend picking up a pair of top ten finishes. Defending champion, Bill Frye of Greenbriar, Arkansas moved into third place, picking up a top ten on Friday, but finishing second behind Phillips on Saturday.

Leslie Essary of Crane, Missouri stayed consistant with a solid top 10 on Friday, but had a good run erased on Saturday after making contact with another driver on the last lap, then making contact with the wall.

Jeff Floyd of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas picked up his first win of the season Friday at Batesville. Floyd turned in a spendid performance, leading all 40 laps. Floyd backed that up on Saturday with a top five putting himself in a position to move further up in the point standings.

Jerry Buck of Harviell, Missouri is having his best season ever in the O'Reilly M.A.R.S. series. Buck notched his best finish ever, taking second behind Floyd Friday at Batesville. Buck didn't crack the top ten on Saturday, but is impressing early in the 2003 season.

Mike Brown of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma struggled Friday at the Batesville Speedway, but rebounded for a top ten finish Saturday at West Plains. Dewaine Hottinger of Russellville, Arkansas is currently eighth in O'Reilly M.A.R.S. points, and notched a top five finish Friday at Batesville.

Steve Rushin of Poplar Bluff, Missouri is currently nineth in O'Reilly M.A.R.S. points. Rushin picked up a top ten finish Saturday at West Plains to aid his effort. Charlie Randolph of Muskogee, Oklahoma rounds out the top ten in series points, but still leads the Kuntz and Company Rookie of the Year standings.

Just outside the top ten is Mike Bowers of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Bowers finished outside the top ten on Friday, but came back with a third place run on Saturday at West Plains.

Joey Mack of Benton, Missouri, Jack Sullivan of Greenbriar, Arkansas, Shane Essary of Aurora, Missouri, Gary Stolba of Willow Springs, Missouri, and Raymond Merrill of Sallisaw, Oklahoma are all expected to be on hand this weekend.
