Tight Racing Headlines Lebanonmidway Double Points Night

Lebanon,Mo.-With over 86 race teams in the pits the word for the action at the LebanonmidwaySpeedway was close as several photo finishes highlighted double points night.
The Evening started off with the popular FactoryStock feature as Bobby Ratterree ans 1st timer to the Midway Lonnie Henerson of Lebanon brought the field down to the green with Henderson grabbing the opening lead,but Ratterree a veteran at the Midway took control on lap 2 with Henderson close behind.Action behind the lead duo was tight as defending champion James ellis had moved into third place with Veteran Bob Gustin charging from his 7th starting spot.With Ratterre setting a fast pace,Henderson had fell behind about 9 cars as Ellis,Gustin,Sundance Keeper,Tim Petty and newcomer Brian Brown were battling for position.The features 1st yellow waved on lap 10 as last weeks winner and point leader Troy White spun in turn 3 while marching forward from 11th to 6th place.On the restart,Ratterree took off quickly,but Henderson made a smooth move going down low in turn 2 and pulled along side the leader as Bob Gustin had moved into 3rd and was coming fast.Going into turn 3,Henderson pulled ahead with Ratterree, Gustin,Ellis and Keeper in the top 5.
On lap 13 the yellow waved as Factory Rookie driver Sheldon Stoufer had problems bunching the field up.On the restart,Henderson pulled away as Gustin moved around Ratterree for second and was closing fast whilw Brian Brown was closing quickly also.As the checkered waved,Henderson in his 1st apperance grabbed his 1st ever Factory win followed closely by Gustin,early leader Ratterree,Brian Brown and Ellis in the top 5.
The A Modified feature would see Craig Wood and veteran Steve Muilenburg bring the field down for the 20 lap feature with Muilenburg grabbing the opening lead followed closely by 2005 champion Jamie Ragland and Rustin Miller.Muilenburg always a front runner at the area tracks would find Ragland trying several moves up high and down low but continued to set the pace.During the long green run point leader Eric Hudson had charged from the raer of the field up to third as Scotty Allen was recoevering from an earlier spin and was coming quickly.Up front Muilenburg and Ragland were still battling as the caution waved on lap 9 for Rustin Miller.On the restart,Allen drove below Hudson to take over 3rd place as Justin Stoufer was coming through the field also along with a solid run by Jimmy Willis.Up front Raland tried several times,but Muilenburg was to strong as he captured his 1st ever win at the Midway with Ragland,Allen,Hudson and Justin Stoufer completing the top 5.
The Bomber put on a wild race for everyone as defending champion Shawn Winfrey brought the field down to grab the opening lead with Cody Harmon close behind.On lap 2,Joe Francis grabbed the second place spot as he set his sights on Winfrey and took over the lead on lap 6 as last weeks winner Mike Piercy was charging from 11th to grab third place on lap 6.After a couple of quick cautions the battled developed into a 7 car race as Rich Allen,Brandon Waters,Duty Rhoades and Jack Hamer moved up to contend.On lap 13,Piercy made the winning move going into turn 2 around Francis to keep his winning streak alive at 4 for the 2007 season followed by Francis,Brandon WatersRich Allen and Keith Cheever in the top 5.Dusty Rhoades had crossed the line in 3rd but was moved to the last car on the lead lap for rough driving as he clipped Shawn Winfrey at the finish while Winfrey was running 3rd.
The Winged Sprints feature would see Matt Tatro jump to the early command with 2005 champion Eric Todd close behind followed Jay Reynolds.On lap 3 the yellow waved as Rusty Quick's car came to a halt with rear-end problems.On the restart,Tatro again jumped to the lead as 2006 champion Clint Todd moved around Reynolds to grab third place and took over the top spot from Tatro on lap 5.On the 8th lap,JP Compton shot like a rocket to move into the runner-up spot and set his sights on leader Clint Todd as last weeks winner Joe Todd was coming from the 11th starting spot to move into 4th on lap 10.A couple of late cautions would see Compton make some moves to grab the lead,but Clint Todd survived the late race surge to grab his 1st win of the season followed closely by Compton,Joe Todd,Eric todd, and Reynolds.
The B-Mod feature produced some great early 3 wide as Jody Saultz grabbed the opening lap lead.On lap 2,Jason Otto and Earl Muilenburg pulled off a 3 wide pass to take control with Muilenburg close behind.On lap 6,point leader and last weeks winner Colt Cheevers dropped the hammer on his car and moved into 2nd place as Otto was setting a fast pace.Behind the lead duo,Andrew Smith,Josh Woody,Muilenburg and early leader Saultz were battling for positions.Chhevers was able to run down leader Otto on the 10th lap and made the winning pass in collecting his 2nd win of the season with Otto,Smith,Woody and Muilenburg following.
The SuperStock feature had JC Newell jump to the early lead until Donnie Gennings moved around Newell on lap 4 and held off a late surge from JC to grab his 2nd win of the season as Newll,point leader Larry Prewitt,Travis Hill and Bennie Joiner completed the top 5.
This Friday Night regular racing action as the Speedway will host a 50 lap Enduro Qualifying race with the top 4 recieving trophies and the winner recieving the pole for the June Enduro Race.Gates open at 5 with hotlaps at 6:50 and Racing at 8PM.
