BIRCH RUN, MI (April 21st) - (Birch Run, MI – June 3rd, 2011) On a spectacular evening for racing, 16 of the fastest Outlaw Super Late Models teams in from the Great Lakes region descended on Dixie Motor Speedway presented by Draper Auto for the Jeremiah Weed/Great Lakes Helicopter Tom Rosebrugh Memorial 100.

The Memorial 100 was renamed to the Tom Rosebrugh Memorial 100 this week after the untimely passing of Michigan Short Track racing legend Tom Rosebrugh and the Rosebrugh Family was strong in attendance as Dixie by Draper paid its respects to the racing community.

Fast qualifier for the event was the #72 of Scott Hantz, racing out of Angola, IN for EMF racing team. Scott snapped off a wicked quick lap of 14.530 seconds to earn fast qualifier honors, he was followed by Harold Fair in the #71, racing out of Milan, MI who was just .016 seconds off the pace. Only .22 seconds separated the Top Ten in qualifying.

The Rosebrugh Family and TR Timber put together a 6 car, 11 lap "Dash for Cash" with $1700 to the winner. Tom Rosebrugh raced the #17 car throughout his illustrious racing career. Fast qualifier Scott Hantz drew the golden pill, starting on the front row, along side him in the #5 out of Macomb Township, MI was Eric Lee. The other four lucky teams getting the opportunity to race for a win in the "Dash for Cash" were the #8 team of Dakota Carlson from Cedar Springs, MI; #78 Travis Eddy from Midland, MI; #5a Jerry Artuso from Sault Ste Marie, ONT and #40 of Mike Luberta Jr of AuGres, MI. Lee got a great jump on the start and stretched out a 5 car length lead over "The Hurricane" Scott Hantz who would spend the next 11 laps stalking the Flat Rock Speedway regular, but he wouldn't be able to reel him in as the Dash for Cash would go caution free and picking up the $1700 purse from TR Timber was the #5 car of Lee.

The dice roll for the invert would see an eleven rolled, meaning the 11th fastest qualifier would be starting on the pole. That put the Green Howe Enterprises machine of Travis Eddy #78 on the pole. Starting along side him in the #8 in the John LeClair Outlaw was Dakota Carlson.

On the drop of the green flag, it was the Eddy machine jumping out front with Butler, IND native Brent Jack making a strong move to take over 2nd place. The Jim Blount Memorial winner from Plymouth (IN) Speedway would spend the next 10 laps chasing Eddy while Michigan Motorsports Hall of Famer Tim Felver in his #5 Larry Zent car and the #116 of Jack Varney Jr clawed their way to the front. On Lap 10 Brent Jack would make a move on the inside of Eddy coming out of turn four and both cars would spin bringing out the only caution of the race. The Eddy car wouldn't be able to continue and on the restart it would be the #41 of Brent Jack taking over the lead. Jack would lead till lap 17 when Felver would pull along side and complete coming across the start/finish line.

As was the case a week ago at Auto City Speedway, the #5 car of Felver would prove to be incredibly strong, pulling out to what would be a nearly second lead over second place Jack Varney Jr with 70 laps to go. Over the course of the next 10 laps, Varney would slowly chip away at Felver's lead.. closing to within a half of second of the leader, with Harold Fair Jr and Eric Lee in hot pursuit. The fast and furious pace would slowly start to take its toll on drivers and equipment as the race saw early leader Brent Jack fall out, Canada's Jerry Artuso would pull off and with 17 laps to go Eric Lee would see his Chevy power plant give up the chase.

At the half way point, Felver would find a rhythm and put a string of 15.4 & 15.5 laps which would put some distance between him and the challengers and the Owosso, MI native would see his lead slowly build.. first to a full second and then to a two seconds lead. Across the stripe and with the checkered flag waiving in the air, it would be the #5 of Tim Felver taking the win. He would be followed by the #116 of Jack Varney Jr., #71 of Harold Fair, #9 of Mike Root and the #4 of Justin Schroeder would round out the Top Five.
