Tire Testing?

just curious...when is the last time any of you racers, pit crew members or racing fans have seen tires being tested? Seems like UMP has given up on this. Will this be the final straw for the low budget teams? Your input please.

Our tires were tested at Highland and Lasalle

They sniffed fast qualifiers in each group at highland.. Not at Belleville though.. Was kind of out of the blue.. But that's only time I've seen all mighty sniffer
 
I did watch them sample Moyer's and Lanigans tires at Quincy for the WoO show earlier this summer. Not a lot of control. One of Sams guys pulled up on a 4 wheeler, told each crew chief to bring the RR to the WoO trailer for a sample. He didn't stick around to see if it actually came off the car or not. (It did, I was talking to Steve when it happened) and I did watch each crew chief cut the sample and sign the evidence bag.
 
Why did u change your original post jim moon? I seen it and pretty much sums up what i think of the situation as a whole. Either way i agree that they have kind of dropped sniffing and taking samples. Word has it that its worse now than ever before so what you can we do to change that? I mean they take samples but who is to say they are sent off.
 
Too add to the discussion let me ask this. How is Bobby Pierce able to run a 20 on the LR last night in the feature? Track appeared dry and slick and no other top tier car ran a soft tire. I especially want to hear from you racers or crew chiefs.

He must have something special because everyone one else would have burned that tire up in a few laps. You would think that the track and or UMP would pay special attention to things like that. That's a tire that should have been tested.
 
Hound stop posting your ignorance on here!! Al asked for the drivers or crew chiefs to respond not some grand stand key board driver!! You cant even post anything worth someones time!! I have been watching these threads for awhile now and no matter what the thread is you have some stupid ass comment to make!! Pleas go back down by the river and get lost!!
 
Be interesting to do a tire temp test after the race to see if something is really going on.

Coming from the king wannabe of street stocks which the class is dead
 
The answer and way to fix it takes way more work than anyone wants to put into fixing it
So that leaves the option to just say boys have at it and I don't see that happening either
