I watched the 32 lose over $20,000 in two consecutive nights this season... Lucas show at Macon, then the following night at TCS... He was leading both before getting 2 flat RR tires at Macon and leading at TCS before knocking the fence half way to to the Mississippi. I was at both shows, just stating what happened, not trying to get involved in this nonsense lol
 
Sure the cost of the materials is marginal. Even compared to the other costs involved in running a modified or late model the equipment to treat tires is not a lot. What you have to take into account is the average working class,weekend racer is not only stretched to the limit financially he is severely limited by time. Most racers at their limit financially they are at their limits of time. Why reward a--holes that have unlimited resources of either time and or money even more of an advantage over your average Joe racer. Isn't it already tough enough on the guy working 40 hours a week and raising a family to try and enjoy a hobby. I get that you are always going to have the guys that will live in their shop and will spend every waking minute and every last penny to race. I don't have a problem with that kind of racer, I was there, I did it and I paid the price for it. The problem is the guy that has an unlimited budget, has the best equipment money can buy, has not only the time to maintain a race program but a great crew. He has all the tools to be successful in racing and that is not enough. It's not enough to just out spend your competition. You have to CHEAT!!! That is what will be the death of racing. Eventually the average guy is just going to say to hell with it. It's not worth the money you have to spend and the time you lose with your family that you never get back. It's already happening. But be like some on here... the same ones said just a few years ago the sportsman class at i55 was so healthy it will have huge car counts into infinity...
