To all the ones that said the Pepsi National costs too much

I agree...one of the best features. But if you knew the facts...the track was terrible during time trials and especially during the heat races. If you were around Kenny Schrader’s pit after the heat races you would know he was so PI$$ED at how bad the track was. He got on his 4 Wheeler and went to tell the track maintainers...they will rework the track before the feature!!! That was the only saving grace for this race...would have been a freight train race, just like the heat races were. Why do you think there was almost no passing during the heats. They were so bad..I would have requested a refund...no fricking water!!!
you should better than that coming from the highland area

Two things for those who bashed I-55 on this site but still showed up for the Pepsi Nationals.

#1. Create a new thread or reply to this one admitting that you were there.

#2. Post a public apology to Ray, Kenny, and their families for what you said.

If you do, you have my respect. If you don't, good luck getting anyone to believe you really know what you're talking about.

TTG/MM

You said it TTG I agree 100% and I'm sure a whole boat load of other people do to.
Some people don't think when they post on here that over time people figure out who they are and know when they are just blowing smoke or not.

At the meeting I was in with Ray and WoO people at about 3:30, it was already decided that the track would be re-worked at intermission. BEFORE KENNY EVEN GOT THERE!

Yes I was there but I did not spend my own money to get in. Had the offer from someone else to pay my way in not come along I would not have spent my own money to go.

Don't you all just love these hypocrites that can never admit that they are wrong?

Who paid your way? Your whining buddy that was also there?

You know we knew this race was coming and it would not be cheap ! Look at what we got for our money ! The 5 extra dollars is amazing that people did not want to spend ! I called in advance got a reserved seat ! Then as it turns out the res seat in advance cost the same as getting in on the day of the race same price as general admission ! Then I rec a pit pass ! I did not use it but had that opportunity to if I so choose ! For the extra money for reserved I like to be able to tell people excuse me but you are in my seat ! : ) But the racing was fantastic ! Friends around me fantastic ! And well worth the money I spent for the day and evening as well !

we bought tickets in advance....saw the most exciting feature ever....will buy tickets every time now no matter what the price is...thank you ray, kenny, I-55, and the world of outlaws...

That is none of your business. I admitted I went and I still feel the price was to high for a 10,000 to win show. I did not see the best races I have ever seen. There were hardly any locals there as many can't afford to buy tires for one night plus the entry fee and the pit price to get in.

LOL Just more of your same ol blah, blah, blah!

so it's ok to pay $25 for a $7,000 show betting the pit passes there were more than $25? $35 was not bad to see some of the big names right here at home. Just go's to show you never belive what you hear people have the right to change there minds. Get a life will ya?

I'd guess that most all of the local late model teams could afford the tires, entry fee, etc. but opted not to come due to the lowered chance of making it into the feature with such a high quality of competition for the night. Let's face it, even as good as the UMP Summernationals are it doesn't come close to the overall WoO talent pool. This is certainly not a shot against the locals, as the STL area has some really good ones but most of the Outlaws and Lucas Oil regulars are in a class all their own.

Also, if I had taken the stance that the cost was way too much for a $10,000 to win race like you did I wouldn't have come no matter whose money was being spent. I thought it was the principle of the thing.

Exactly what I posted a few weeks ago happened. (patting myself on the back and slighly dusting my shoulders off!) The stands were packed, the locals didn't show-up in force, and it was a great show!

Who cares if people stayed home or want to bash, F them. The rest of us knowledgeable people were there along with others from all over the midwest. The Pepsi Nationals will live on even if 150 local people decide not to join in on the fun!

Buy Tires??? It wasn't an open tire rule... It was the same tire rule that was there for the Summer Nationals... Hoosier LM20, LM30 & LM40's only!

real racing fan
If you would have ask the drivers (in the pits) you would have found out that most were displeased with the racing surface during the heat races. For the feature it was in great shape…interesting that the fastest qualifiers did not win the race.
