It looked to me like he did more than just "get together" with the about to be lapped car of Shannon Kuhn. Faust flat out plowed right into him. If it had been my call, even if he hadn't damaged the front end, Faust would have been sent to the back of the lead lap cars.

Just the fact thathe was dominating proves my point that he should not be eligable to run the race. He didn't race a crate all year. He had no business racing that race. Billy is my favorite local late model drive but have to be honest I was pulling against him.

If there wasn't a rule about how many races had to be raced then he could race. Dauberman dominates every week and no one says anything about it.

This just proves that Billy can drive anything you put him in.

OPEN COMPETITION, FREE MARKET!!! Do these words ring a bell? How can you tell a guy that he's "too good" to race? Mark Oller, Ed Dixon, Mike Hammerle, and Clay Baumann have a ton of experience in Super Late Models. Ed Dixon's resume is much deeper then Billy Faust's. Should they have been disqualified too?

Ump had something to say about it. They traded him a fresh motor for his worn out motor.

Still not the point some one said that he shouldn't have been driving a crate. If there was no rule saying a Driver has to race X amount of crate races before this race at Tri-City then Billy had every right to be out there. Fast Track has a rule were you have to run I think 9 races before you can be in there big money show. Which I think is a great rule, but if there isn't that rule in place then it is open game and anyone can race.

Once again this just proves you can put Billy in anything and he can drive it.

I agree Billy can race the wheels off of anything. The point some of these people are making is when you have guys like Faust, Dixon, Oller with all their experiance & resources (shocks, springs, etc.) racing crates, it puts all the small budget teams (which this class was created) for at a disadvantage. Their experiance with what changes to make for different track conditions will shine through almost every time.

I understand that, but if the drivers have a problem with it then they need to take it up with the Track owners, or whoever is running the show. These drivers racing in this race does not effect the fans only the drivers and they are the ones who need to say something to the right people.

I thought that the crate motor was to even the field so the little guys could run with the big dogs and resources ($$) did not matter because everyone had the same stuff. At least that is the line was pushed when the Sportsman cars were pushed out for crates. Now its shock and springs (not motor?) beating the little guys. Where does it end? IROC type setup?

Hold up

Racing, much like business is a free market. Anyone can race as long as their stuff is legal and they pay the necassary pit passes and/or entry fees to get the car and themselves entered. If one guy has more experience then another or has more financial resourses or simply has more spare parts then yes, that person will have a competitive advantage. Is there anything wrong with this? NO!!! That is the nature of business. I am not in favor of communism, not even in racing.
