To me the bottom line is no one cares what some drunk off duty Oklahoma deputy does and his actions wouldn't make a headline anywhere but maybe Tulsa when it comes out he got thrown out of the Chili Bowl.
Tony Stewart on the other hand is a high profile figure and many who have no interest in racing see his antics as representative of the majority in racing. That is a real shame, because most people in racing are above acting like he does.
I like the guy as a racer and I am impressed by what he has been able to achieve. But when you keep getting yourself into these situations, throwing your helmet, having to go to anger management because your sponsor demands it, you kill some poor kid, you end up in the stands at a major event arguing with a heckler, after awhile it appears you have a problem and "here's your signs"
