Like the Flagmen Thread from Eileen,Just for fun! I'll start with Bennie Stallard,Wayne Holtmann,Dennis Dorries,Glen Jacoby,Doug Jenkins,Tim Zobrist,Larry Little and of course,Mike Meuer.I can't remember who is the 2nd announcer at TCS....Durn Brain Cramps! LOL!:D

Al Brinkmeyer ,Allied announcer at Belleville and Lake Hill in the 60's. He was very good. Davey Lee did Belle Clair also along with Glen Jacoby,Don McGinnity.Current announcer Mike Meurer is one of the best I have ever heard.

I remember Davey Lee on WIL radio. Didn't George Depper also announce at Godfrey? I heard him on the radio, also.

George worked for WGBZ radio out of Alton and radio station in St. Louis. I don't remember him anouncing at Godfrey but he did anounce at Tri-City. Also Gary Bryer announced at Godfrey back in the 80's!

Biker6403...............thanks for starting this thread...............and one I would have gotten to...............because I think we need to keep lists like this one and the flagmen one for historical purposes.............and yes the info will end up in the MMM.

Wasn't there a Troy ???? at Godfrey for like a season?

There's Don McElroy or is it Donnie at Tri-City?

"Joppa Jim" Childers with POWRi, Springfield, & DuQuoin

There's been some other DJ types from some of the St. Louis stations.

I'll start a log of this list as well................

Please keep the names coming.

My favorite of all time is Dave Walden or Wallen (darn getting old memory thing) from Jacksonville, Il. Great voice very entertaining. Great guy as well

Also remember Connie Holiday at Tri-City some in the 80s

Wayne Holtmann announced in Highland & Brownstown, & also raced in Highland in a beige colored coupe in the 60's, if my memory serves me correctly.

Dennis Dorris announced at Highland for a long time, Gene Hicks has spent some time behind the mic at Brownstown and Highland. I can't remember his last name but Mark worked for years at Mt. Vernon and I believe he's working Paducah now. As mentioned George Depper worked at TCS and Godfrey, besides working at WBGZ, he was a part of the Steve and DC Show as "Uncle" George.
