Tri-City 50/50 Question

I was at the Lucas Oil show last week and noticed that they did not announce the winning 50/50 number until after the Late Model feature after all of the interviews and many people had headed for the exit to beat the traffic. I cannot say that I have been to a lot of tracks but the ones that I have been to announced the winning number during intermission. Highland even draws the winning ticket and presents the money to the winner by the flag stand during intermission. I realize that they did not have an intermission at Tri-City that night because of the pending weather conditions but they could have announced the winning number before the Late Model feature started. If the money is not claimed, could they post the winning number on this site so the winner can come back and claim the money?

The Late Model Feature was moved up to run 1st with the weather around us. The 50/50 was claimed
and the fan was very excited. The number was scheduled to be called at 10:00, but the Late Model feature was running at that time. The number was called right after the Late Model Feature was completed.

Thank You
Tri City Speedway

I was not trying to imply that anything crooked was going on. I just said I would like them to announce the number during intermission so fans could get out of there as soon as the main event was over or whenever they chose to leave. I think it was last year the announcer said get your 50/50 tickets out then went off talking about something else. This went on for over a half hour. Maybe every person heading for the exit as soon as the Late Model feature checkered dropped did not buy a ticket but most of them would if they knew the number would be announced at a more appropriate time. Bahahahaha post the number ??? They do this all the time there !!!
just to clear this post up... They was one happy camper when they one it that night !!! As a gambler I would rather see the races get in then worry about losing a dollar. was a jacked up day from the start with the weather and all. I member the lightning and stuff moving in and races being pushed up. I member Doug saying it will be called right after feature. Anytime the weather is bad its always a priority to get em in first and call the number in between events there. I think its the right way to do it but if the took the time for a break and it got rained out people would be on here screaming well why did they take time to call 50/50 and a short intermission

Well dirtbag, I look at it this way, I know you don't see nothing or hear crap all night, cause your drunk from the five dollar bears. But the fifty fifty is a helpful way to get more money for the drivers funds at the end of the year. I always throw in three dollars a night at any track I attend. The drivers deserve a bigger pay at the end of the year for the shows they bring us. But some of you drunk idiots can't keep from drinking one less bear to help out this fund. You all tell the poor kid you bring, ask for a soda, didn't you already have a soda? When your on your fifth bear, poor kids!

This thread is starting to go the wrong direction. It is probably on it's way to being locked. I just made a suggestion and that is all. I think the Gundakers have always been willing to listen to the fans' ideas. I don't see where time is a factor in when you announce the winning number. It wouldn't take near as long to announce the winning number as it took the five or six times to announce that they were going to announce it. I will be back for the show on July 13th. Let's see if anything changes.

Thanks Ptony39 for reminding me that 50/50 is for the driver's fund. Not a big gambler anyway but will get some again. What i do want to say is kudos to Tammy and Kevin for moving the LM a-main to make sure and get that in over any 50/50. 48 Late Models on a night where weather was questionable was awesome to see.

Ur welcome racerfan x, and I'm sure tri city will fix this. I know they work hard after intermission selling a few more just for this pupose

I agree with an earlier post that it only takes a few seconds to announce the number. I also realize that not all tracks run the main event first like other local tracks do. I don't care if they want to run the Late Model first or even last but they should announce the number before it starts so fans can leave at the checkered flag if they choose. I think I questioned the ladies in the ticket booth last year at one of the Lucas Oil shows and they told me that they sent the winning number to the tower over an hour ago and it still had not been announced so selling more tickets is not a reason for the late announcement.

Last night I asked the ticket girl what time they would announce the winning number and she told me 10:00pm. They announced the last call around 9:30 and the last time I saw a ticket girl was 9:45. The Late Model feature started a little before 10:00 and the number wasn't announced until after the Crate feature around 10:45. I realize the announcer is busy during the features but if you are going to say that the number will be announced at 10:00 then announce it or at least post it at the beer stand so people can leave when they want to.
