Tri-City Speedway 2009 Points Championship Top 10 Photos

I kinda wondered. I tried to buy one but by the time I made it out they weren't selling them anymore. I'll have mine this year.

Got a question were guys that were running mods and super latemodels at tricity getting national and state points on regular friday nights?

If you are talking UMP points, no they weren't getting points. Only the crates and 4 Cylinders were weekly UMP sanctioned. The membership above that was referred to was Tri-City Speedway memberships, similar to AARA membership.

don;t know how to count

Ther was 7 members in the late model class but he wasnt given his credited time . he should of got rookie of the year also.

I agree Dean they need to learn how to count. Steve made all the races but the big shows. The only other race he missed is one week! The reason he didnt run the big shows is because it was his first year in a super latemodel. I thought he was doing the right thing those big boys dont want a rookie out there to tear up their cars! No reason about worring about it. Belleville runs on friday nights! The gundackers did the best job they could do on counting steves races thats all you can ask. Im sure belleville will do a better job on counting every time he is there this year. Their loss BELLEVILLES gain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

bill, thats one reseason we dont run down there anymore. they ****ed aaron out of a points trophy at the end of the year. they said he didnt run 70% of the races. but he still pay his membership like everybody else did. i told steve they would screw him over.

I don't usually comment of a situation when it's stated in the rule book, but
BOTH situations on this thread were due the DRIVER not attending the required 75% of the nights. Not Tri-City SCREWING someone.

We will not bend the rules for anyone. We explain the membership and how it works from the beginning. Don't push this off on the racetrack we don't control how many nights a driver attends.

Everyone was told up front and it's stated in the RULES you have to run 75% of the events and EVERY NIGHT is a points night. All drivers are in the same situation when a big show comes in. We've had the same rule for 5 years.

The situation with the Late Model driver - He ran 11 of 19 nights, which is not 75% of the time. We have to stand by the rules for everyone. Why would we not want a driver not to be honored. Same situation with the Factory Stock Driver.

We explain the membership and how it works from the beginning. Don't push this off on the racetrack. We had our rules meeting yesterday Jan 30th and everyone who joined knows it's 75% and every night is a points night.

I understand your frustration ... however, please go to the Belleville website and click on the icon for the AARA rule book.

Look at the top of page 12 ... You would have been in the same situation had you run Belleville.

Sorry ... don't blame others for your ignorance of the rule book.

Here is AARA's rule ...
To participate in the AARA points fund a driver MUST:
Obtain annual membership in AARA by a date determined by the Association. Participate in 75% of race dates at the individual track.

All I hear about are promoters who have a rules in place and do not follow them. I give the Gundakers praise for following the rules they have in place regardless of who they affect. Way to go.

The Rules

To the Gundakers and Tri City Speedway,
I thank you for following the rules.
Yes It may make some people mad, but if you were to bend the rules in any way then you would be accused of playing favorites.

Way to stand your ground!!

Nothing against Gundakers , thought we made enough races. Missed all the big shows due to little motor, frist year in car, and missed two other nights due to blown motor. Rules are rules, just disappointing that we came up short,
looked forward to having a good time at the banquet.

reason

When i made my previous statement I had talked to Tammy on the phone and she said Steve only raced 9 nights, AND thats not right. Any way Steve made his statement showing his sportsmanship and understanding,a true gentelman. Know matter where he raced at in my book he was LM Rookie of the Year. Great job with a 11 year old car and steel block give you another year and some financing you ll be up with the best. DINO
