Tri-City Speedway & Highland Speedway 2012 Modified Tire Rule!

Don't think they are going to miss you with that attitude anyways. Besides can you tell me that you are going to notice that much of a difference with all hards on? We run 3 every night in the feature anyway. If the heat race tracks stay black like they were last year it won't be a big deal then either. I can see maybe allowing a D on the LF only but like at it this way. With an A up there youll never wear out a LF!

this rule will save no one money. what is the point in this rule the fast guys will still be fast and the slow guys will still be slow. Now we will have to have more rims and a few different sets of tires if we want to all tracks in area. going to cost us alot more just to run these 2 tracks. we was going to run them but probly not anymore

I think it's a great rule. 24 Raceway in Moberly, Lake Ozark, Callaway Raceways in MO have been using this rule for years and has always worked great and all are UMP sanctioned. Out of towners come in a lot and there's never been a discrepancy that I know of.

it is not so much the rule.......it is the time allowed to 'burn off" the D's.....in the last three years of racing I have bought a total of three (3) new tires, which were all A's......but I have 14 D's that are still able to be used......the big question is WHY SUCH A SHORT "BURN OFF" period? And yes #1dirtfan i could go out there and burn them up in a month and a half but why should I? you burn them up by too much wheel spin which equates to loss of traction.... how is that helping?.....why should i go out and purposely burn up tires just so that I have to go out and buy new ones that is not saving me any money.... and I thought that is what this decission was about.....( saving the racer/owner money on tire bills).......and to be clear......i dont have a problem with running A's and H's only, I just wish more lattitude would be given for those of us that have several tires that can still be run...... as suggested before......why not let us run them till mid season....then past that on the front only.....then next year go to A's and H's onlythat gives those of us with the abundance of D's to transition our stock.......some of us either dont like to go to other tracks or choose not to for what ever reason......so please dont say that if I/we dont like it we can go elsewhere.......alot of racers may not be able to pull to another track that is farther away.......

Who really races year or two old tires anyway. I would say you should be glad to get a burn off period. They don't have to give you one. Quit crying and race

Before I start bandit and everyone else you must know I am not bashing anyone, I do not know what car he or anyone else drives and I have no problem with any of them.Yes that is one way to burn up D's bandit but the way I was referring to and the way alot of faster guys (also the reason they dont run D's much) burn up D's is by having the car hooked up which in turn causes alot of heat build up therefore "burning" the tire up.

Love this rule... This rule might force some of the drivers to actually think about set-up instead of using tires as a crutch... Including me...

You know i agree with the tire rule i wish rhe tracks out here would follow suit and run emods a,s or h,s but it will never happen cause they are not ump and its a region thing

it will save me money on RF and LR tires and hopefully next year the other tracks will get on board with it maybe announce at mid sesson they are going to do it so people just burn the old ones thanks as far as set up i didnt change any thing when i went to the lake and fulton and quincy not much difference just dont burn up the tires might just make sure you wash an grind them better than the D

Why they are changing the rules at the very last moment I mean by the end of last year I came to know about the rules and now this is something else….WTF is goin on

time for my imput...been doing this deal for longer than most ya all been kicking...the idea of a tire rule is good BUT the burn off time needs to be extended,,not to a set date but the no. of race nights the tracks get to run at the start of the season,,i would say 6 to 10 nights at the most with the only exception being the left front till mid season or even the balance of the season..will it save money for the average racer? not this season, there will be a shortage of good used a&h tires but i think it will benifit the lower buck racers in future seasons...

If there are rainouts before the May 1st deadline, they will extend the burn off period by however nights are rained out.
